In compliance with the sixth section of chapter 290 of the Acts of the year 1866, entitled " An Act in relation to the formation of Co-operative Associations," I herewith transmit for the information of the Legislature, the statements deposited in this Department under requirement of said statute. To the Secretary of State of Massachusetts. In conformity with the sixth section of an Act approved May 30, 1866, in relation to Co-operative Associations, we hereby certify that the Acushnet Co-operative Association was organized and went into operation February 15, 1867, with a capital paid in of $6,900, divided into two hundred and seventy-six shares of twenty- five dollars each. In May, 1868, they had added over thirty per cent, to their capital stock, and paid a dividend of 13^ per cent. And in May, 1869, they paid to the stockholders a dividend of twenty (20) per cent. The property of the Association at this date consists of — Real estate, $4,500 00 Merchandise, 5,614 89 Cash, 651 61 Amounting to ten thousand seven hundred sixty-six ^ dollars, . $10,766 50 And the Company are entirely free from debts of any kind whatever. FIRST WEYMOUTH LABORERS' CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION. The Managers of the " First Weymouth Laborers' Co-operative Association," of Weymouth, report the condition of the Association on the first day of November, 1869, as follows: — The Association was organized February 1st, 1869, and the cap- ital stock fixed at ten thousand dollars, ($10,000,) the par value of the shares being fixed at five dollars, ($5.) Subsequently the capital was reduced to three thousand dollars, ($3,000.) There have been sold 344 shares, for which have been received one thousand seven hundred and twenty dollars, ($1,720,) and ($100) one hundred dollars for membership, making a total of eighteen hundred and twenty dollars, ($1,820.) In addition to which there have been received for shares for which no certificates have been issued, one hundred and ninety dollars ; making a total of two thousand and ten dollars, ($2,010.) The store was opened October 21, 1869, and has been in opera- tion one week, and is doing a business of about $100 per day, cash on delivery. The Association have purchased a lot of land and erected a building thereon, used for a store and hall.
