Fogarty International Center for Advanced Study in the Health Sciences Directory of International Opportunities in Biomedical and Behavioral Sciences SSSSSSSSSSSSS Public Health Service National Inst tttttttttttttt xxa4 fl 1013y PUBL INTRODUCTION Over the past several years we have seen some decrease in the number of support opportunities available from Federal sources and certain private organizations for U.S. scientists to conduct biomedical research abroad. 0n the other hand we have become aware of new opportunities available from foreign sources as well as of others that are perhaps not sufficiently widely known. In this recent period, the Fogarty International Center, as one of the major institutions with international fellowship programs, has had an increase in the number of inquiries from individuals seeking such support. It is for this reason that the International Research and Awards Branch of the Fogarty International Center has prepared this directory in response to numerous requests for this type of information. This directory provides a convenient listing of organizations and agencies that support fellowships for research in the biomedical and behavioral sciences. It was prepared primarily for U.S. postdoctoral scientists seeking opportunities in foreign countries. Organizations that do not limit their support to U.S. citizens are included in this listing. Thus, the directory should also be helpful to foreign scientists. We have not exhausted the available programs and resources, but we do hope to add other organizations to the list as they become known to us. We solicit your participation in bringing to our attention additional organizations that have among their major objectives the support of Opportunities for 0.5. scientists to pursue collaborative research projects abroad for inclusion in future editions of this directory. /\ 3:" 21., Mark S.
