No. 910 T HE object of the Door Bumper is to prevent the jar and noise in shutting a Door. It consists of a Cast Iron Cup with a Brace attached to screw it to the Door. A Rubber Ball is pressed into the Cup so that it will not fall out. A piece of Rubber made fast to the Jamb Casing over the Door for the Ball to strike against completes the contrivance. The Rubber over the Door may be increased or lessened in thickness, so that when the Rubber Ball comes in contact, it requires some little pressure to make the Door latch. The effect is to have the Door shut without the noise and jar that sometimes so annoyingly accompanies the shutting of a Door. Price, . . . each, $1.00 Full-size Cut. Frys Door Holders. It is much more secure than a bolt, and cannot rust and stain the shutters, or in any way get out of order. It is simple in construction, and sells for less money than the old fasteners now in use. It avoids the danger of reaching out of the window to fasten the shutters back, and the veryjgreat inconvenience of rusty and frozen bolts. Improvements have recently been made in these Hangers that will enable them to retain this reputation which they are so well and justly entitled to. In the Improved Hangers, to secure a perfect and rigid adjustment, a new locking device has been added to the Plate which holds the Set Screw and Yoke firmly in position. They are also so constructed that the incline on the Yoke rests and slides on a corresponding incline on the Plate, thus giving a double and absolutely perfect adjustment. The Lugs are made of polished steel, perfect in finish and size, and the holes are drilled with special machinery designed expressly for this purpose, thus insuring a perfect fit and making them interchangeable. No cutting or defacing of Doors, either upon the upper edge or side for Plate or Set Screw, is required to place these Hangers in position, this having been done away with entirely in the Richard's Improved Hanger. The following number of pieces compose one set : 4 pieces of Wood Track 7 feet each, 4 Yokes, 4 Wheels, 4 Plates, 4 Set Screws, 2 Pockets, 2 Sto'£>s, 2 Floor Guides, 4 Buffers. Price, ...... No. 3 — Displays a 6-inch, with flat frame, to be used where individuals object to boring the Doors for the Hand Rail pattern, and also where appearance is not a matter of importance. Where this form is used the bar is let in flush or level with the surface and painted over. No. 4 — Exhibits a 4-inch Sheave of the same fashion as No. 3. The Frames are all made entirely of Wrought Iron. The Wheels of Iron with a Composition Pin. The Rail is a Wrought Iron Bar, two inches wide and one-quarter of an inch thick, dressed semi-cylindrically or round on the upper edge to fit the Sheave, and drilled for Screws to fasten it on a horizontal piece of Timber which is attached to the studding. The Rail may be made heavier if desired. The points of superiority are rich ornamentation and attractiveness. Contains more points and less parts than any ever produced. Absolutely Burglar-Proof; without Bolt or Padlock. Frame, Grate, Sash, Glass and Screen combined in so simple a manner as to be readily opened and shut, for either ventilating, admitting coal, etc., or for keeping out air and cold. Excludes flies, vermin, etc., when ventilating. Is cheaper than any other arrangement for the purpose ; can only be opened from Inside ; has no Bolts to get rusted and out of order. It is no Novelty, but a Common-Sense arrangement, so simple as to need no explanation when once seen. Explanation : The Glass A and Screen B are connected to large grate. The Door C with glass, when shut, excludes the air and cold, and when open (as cut) admits ventilation, — the screen B preventing insects and rodents from entering. The large door has projections at the end where the door C joins the frame, and is held securely by the journals of the door C and can only be opened by removing the door C, — which is done at an angle of about 45 degrees, thus making it absolutely Burglar-Proof, and dispenses with the annoyance of Bolts and Lock. The Glass and Screen are held in position by wires moulded in the casting. Door Stops.
