Stewardship and the World Emergency INTERCHURCH WORLD MOVEMENT OF NORTH AMERICA 45 West 18th Street New York City Stewardship and the World Emergency The fourth of a series of four programs on stewardship designed for use in the Sunday school during a stewardship campaign in a local church. “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? Behold, I say unto you. Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white already unto harvest.” {John 4 : 35 ). This program is to take the place of the usual opening service in the Sunday school. Order of Service T. Instrumental prelude. II. Doxology: (Tune: “Old Hundred,” school standing). “Praise God from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.” III. Scripture reading, (responsively; all standing): Leader. “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth.” (Rev. 21:1). Order of Service School. “And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying. Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.’’ (Rev. 21:3). Leader. “And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying. All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. School. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: Leader. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I com- manded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matt. 28:18-20). IV. Hymn, “Far and Near the Fields are Teeming,’’ “Where Cross the Crowded Ways of Life,’’ or “A Charge to Keep I Have.’’ V. Scripture recitation (read or recited by a senior pupil) : “So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him. Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him. Feed my lambs. He saith to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith unto him. Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him. Tend my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him. Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest I love thee. Jesus saith unto hiim.
