Cba^efe CatcUoffm poM /ru . the earliest work in which the Grail Legend is worked into the pseudo-historic Arthur story as elaborated by Geoffrey of Monmouth and the Bnits, and the transition stage to the later cyclic treatments which culminated in the Lancelot* Queste romance. In connection with this, Miss Weston sums up and develops her previous investigations on the true nature of the Grail Legend. The conclusion which she advocates will be found of deep interest, alike to the student of mysticism in the Middle Ages, and of the relations of what may be called the secondary developments of Christianity to pre- Christian phases of belief and practice. The direction in which Miss Weston has sought for a solution of the Grail problem, which, as she claims, satisfies all its elements, may be indicated by saying that many of the conceptions studied by.Dr. Frazer in the Golden Bought and by Mr. Alfred Nutt in the Voyage of Bran are involved. « The work will form a crown 8vo volume of upwards ot 350 pages. A prospefctus giving subscription price will be issued in January and sent on applicatimi. The Sub- scription price will probably be los. 6d. net (iis. post free), but may be a little more.
