Limitations of space compel the Editor to concentrate on the Armenians, and merely to give references to the other racial groups under the head of Subject Christian Populations. The principles of selection have been to indicate recent, useful and presumably accessible material, with- out failing to give valuable clues found far off the beaten track. Titles in languages other than English, French and German have been omitted. An asterisk (*) indicates titles of special value to the general reader. The Editor will be glad to receive suggestions which may be incorporated in a second edition double the present length, which may appear soon. The labor of cataloging has been performed chiefly by Miss Katherine Giddings Marvin, now of the Columbia University Library. Thanks are due to the printers, The H. W. Wilson Com- pany of White Plains, New York, for mailing the List together with the Readers' Guide for November, 1916. Copies of the List may be obtained at ten cents each, postage free, from The American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief 70 Fifth Avenue, New York City. I. BIBLIOGRAPHIES Oriental bibliography.
