The dining room with its large bay window makes an attractive appearance. An arch or sliding doors could be substituted between the living room. Siding is specified for the remainder of the exterior, but a very rich looking effect would be secured by using the pressed bricks, which now are so popular. This would add considerable to the first cost, but would soon pay for itself in the saving of expense in painting, repairs, etc. The reception hall with the open staircase to landing, the fire-place directly opposite the front door, the seat extending along the wall and staircase, the coat closet with its fine mirrored door and the quaint little shelf window give an effect which must be pleasing to the most critical. The living room and dining room are connected by sliding doors; an arch could be substituted if desired. The conservatory might be arranged as a den or sewing room. The broad massive-looking porch adds considerable to the appearance of this home. We have a small reception hall opening into a 10x14 living room, that leads into a dining room which although not large, is so well shaped as to have good seating capacity. If desired, at a very small additional expense, arches or sliding doors could be substituted between hall and living room and also dining room.
