In races exclusively for three-year-olds, or for four-year-olds, the weight shall be 122 lbs. : and in races exclusively for two-year- olds, the weight shall be 118 lbs. Except in handicaps, and in races where the weights are fixed absolutely in the conditions, fillies two years old shall be allowed 3 lbs. ; and mares three years old and upward, shall be allowed 5 lbs. Under the Old Scale, in races exclusively for three-year-olds, the weight shall be 118 lbs., and for two-year-olds, 115 lbs. ; and geld- ings, of all ages, are entitled to an allowance of 3 lbs. (62) CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONS OF THIS MEETING. On race days, entries will close thirty minutes after the last race ; on other days, at 4 P.M. When not otherwise stated in the conditions of the race, weights for handicaps will be announced after the last race on the day before the race, and declarations made through the entry-box thirty minutes thereafter. Entry blanks will be furnished at the Course, and must be filled in full with description, name, age, pedigree, weight, colors, and allowances. Owners and trainers must be careful to claim allowances, and are responsible for the weight carried. Entries and probable starters will be announced immediately after the hour for closing. If a horse be disqualified on account of incorrect weight, the decision shall not apply to bets, provided the weight published in the programme, or corrected on the notice board, was carried. In all cases, horses must be struck out thirty minutes before the time appointed for the race to be run, and from that moment all horses remaining in shall be considered starters, as far as the betting is concerned. If more than one horse, the property of the same owner, be entered for a selling purse, the entry shall not be void, but the horse first named shall alone be eligible to start. An entry by telegram, received in time, will be accepted as though made through the entry-box. Winner of a specified sum means winner of a single race of that value. In all jelling races, the half of any surplus on the sale of the winner shall go to the second horse, and the other half of any such surplus shall go to the fund for disabled jockeys. Jockeys must weigh in twenty minutes before the time set for the race in which they are to ride. The Club reserves the right to change or withdraw entirely any unclosed race. Owners not having funds to their credit on the books of the Club, will be required to pay the Forfeit or Entrance Pee before their jockey can pass the scales. Horses must be saddled in the paddock, unless excused by the Judges. T. H. KOCK, H. DE COURCY FORBES, Secretary. President. (63; NEW YORK JOCKEY CLUB. FALL MEETING, 1890.
