Sanitary Medicine Cabinet LOCKERS and LAVATORY MIRRORS Copyright, 1921 Hess Warming & Ventilating Co. llm i i "i 211 ¥T I Made by Hess Warming & Ventilating Co. 1204-5-6-7 Tacoma Bldg. Chicago T HE HESS STEEL MEDI¬ CINE CABINET OR BATH ROOM LOCKERisthe finest offering in the line of sanitary ac¬ cessories to the home — the hotel — the apartment house. It is in line with the popular tendency to adapt fireproof and sanitary materials to the construc¬ tion of household appliances and to general building construction. Its novelty — its beauty, and its quali¬ ties of cleanliness and durability commend it to owners, architects and builders, alike. It is not a luxury, but a necessity, and at the price asked for it, it’s a real economy, as compared with the ordinary wooden construction. Enameled steel has many advan¬ tages over wood. It is handsome; it never warps, shrinks, swells, sags, nor opens in the joints. It is non¬ absorbent and will not stain as will wood. TWO The Recessed Cabinet, Style E—With open shelf below three The inside being enameled, is easily kept clean, and will not har¬ bor vermin of any sort. It is durable, and if it ever be¬ comes marred or dingy, may be re¬ enameled at slight expense and will then look like new. This beautiful cabinet is made throughout of soft, smooth, annealed steel, pressed and formed into shape by powerful automatic machinery. It is made up in the most substan¬ tial manner, the corners of the doors and frames being solidly welded, and the various parts securely riveted or welded together. It is heavily coated inside and out, with the best qualitj^ of snow white enamel, each coat subjected to a separate baking in gas heated ovens. The result is a pure white, smooth, hard finish, which never cracks nor peels. It may be washed and cleaned with soap and water or FOUR The Recessed Cabinet, Style F—The open shelf below is omitted FIVE with furniture polish — and should be wiped dry after each cleaning. The door recesses flush with the face of the cabinet, into a rabbeted jamb, and the face of it is beveled inward one-half inch around the mirror, giving it a handsome, “classy,” appearance. It is furnished with a plate glass mirror, with beveled edges, or plain, if preferred; or a white door, with no mirror, will be supplied if desired. Our mirrors are made of the best polished plate glass and are care¬ fully selected: they are guaranteed to be satisfactory. If specially ordered, we will supply doors with clear plate glass, through which the contents of the cabinet may be seen. Physicians and surgeons make use of such cabi¬ nets, as receptacles for instruments, etc. The trimmings (hinges and turn handle) are of solid bronze, polished SIX The Outside Cabinet, Style H—No open shelf below SEVEN and nickel plated, and attached with nickel plated screws or bolts. The shelves are adjustable and may be placed at different heights to suit the purchaser. A large com¬ partment is provided, in which quart bottles may be accommodated. When not specified, the shelves are of white enameled steel. We supply polished plate glass shelves also, at an extra price, if de¬ sired. The regular locker is furnished with turn catch and handle. We supply a Yale cylinder flat key lock, with two keys, at an additional charge when specially ordered. The locker is a beautifully fin¬ ished article, suitable for any bath¬ room and in keeping with the finest of bathroom fixtures. All lockers are right hand. Left hand lockers are supplied, when specified, at a slightly increased cost. EIGHT The Framed Opening for Styles E and F NINE The locker is complete and ready for use when shipped. No fitting, nor work upon it is necessary. Four screws, which accompany the locker, are to be inserted, and the job is done. In providing the recess for styles E and F care must be taken that the frame is square and of proper size. Three-quarter inch grounds are required, and the plaster must come up flush and smooth to them. The TOP of the opening is 6 feet 2 inches from the floor, which will bring the mirror in proper position for the average adult. The recessed lockers require a depth of 4^4 inches from the face of the plastered wall to the back of the recess, and they project 1 % inches from the wall. Style H does not recess but is screwed to the face of the wall. Holes for this purpose are provided TEN in the back of the locker and sixteen inches from center to center. If the studding does not come right to match these holes, cross¬ pieces of one-inch stuff should be attached to the studs, and the Cabinet screwed to the cross-pieces. Never support the locker on the lath alone. Two sizes—Nos. 19E and 29F will fit between studding when placed 16 inches from centers. The larger sizes require the cutting of one stud. CAUTION: Do not unpack the Cabinet nor put it in position till workmen are out of the building. It is apt to be marred or soiled. It is a piece of fine FURNITURE, and its installation should be deferred as late as possible. Our locker is sold by plumbers, hardware and furniture dealers in many cities. If your dealer does not have a sample to show you, order ELEVEN from us direct. We will guarantee to deliver the locker to you in good order, free from defects or damage, and the condition of your purchase may be that if, on its arrival, you are not entirely pleased, it may be re¬ turned at our expense for freight both ways, and your money will be refunded, or the charge against you cancelled, or you may order C.O.D. subject to examination before pay¬ ment. Each locker is packed in a strong wooden box secured in place with screws, so that no part of the enam¬ eled finish is in contact with wood or any packing material. We ship everywhere in the United States, to Canada, and abroad, and the lockers reach destination free from damage. We guarantee this and will re¬ place any that may be damaged in transit, free of expense to the pur¬ chaser.
