FOR CBURCHBSy PUBLlO BUILD!NGS AND PRIVATE RESIDEtsiCES 1429 TRBMONT STiREET • ; RENVEH, COio. Telephone Champa 3379 MR. CARL BRANDT. I Vl/>| iHr. ®arl Iranbt, late of Chicago, begs to an¬ nounce that he has removed his entire plant for the paint¬ ing and nianiifactiiring of ecclesiastical and domestic win¬ dows to Denver. Mr. Brandt, after having studied at the Academy in Dusseldorf, Germany, gave the art of glass and mural painting his especial attention, and has an envi¬ able reputation for that class of work. Mr. Brandt has successfully competed witli the leading American and European firms. Among other contracts was the St. Pauhs Church, Chicago (Pastor Rev. R. A. John), Avhich amounted to over $10,000 for windows and wall paintings. The fact that besides painting, Mr. Brandt superin¬ tends personally all his work, enables him to easily com¬ pete for prices, excellence of finish and artistic rendering with any firm, American or European. Portraits of the very highest artistic value may be painted on glass or porcelain from life or photo. A cordial invitation to visit the studio is extended to any one interested. St. John’s Evangelical Church, Clay and Market Streets, llev. Theo. F. John, Pastor. Louisville, Ky., April 10th, 1899, Mr. C. Brandt: My Dear Sir—It gives me extreme pleasure to state that the window has given the completest satisfaction possible. Everybody is charmed with the beautiful and artistic ornament which our church has thus received. I am sorry that you could not be with us on the day of its dedication to share our happiness. It would have been a day of triumph for you. I feel satisfied that this window will stimulate other people to follow the good example set. Thanking you again for the prompt and satisfactory service received, I am yours, / THEO. F. JOHN. Church of the Guardian Angels. Chicago, December 27th, 1900. Dear Mr. Brandt: Inclosed please find check to balance my account for stained glass win¬ dows. Everyone who has visited the church has spoken of your work in terms of the highest praise. Not only is it superior to any work done by local firms, but surpasses, in my opinion, many of the stained glass win¬ dows imported from Europe. Wishing you a Happy New Year, I remain. Very gratefully, EDMUND M. DUNNE, D. D. Louisville, Ky., October 23d, 1899. Mr. C. Brandt, Chicago, Ill.: My Dear Sir—Yesterday was another galaday in the history of our church, the occasion being the dedication of the new window. Everybody including the donor, was pleased, delighted, charmed. If we believed our first window to be a work of art, second to none in the city, we think so more strongly of this, the second one. Tliere are a number of windows in this city by Mayer, of Munchen, and Tiffany, New York, but none of them would be accepted in exchange for our “Christ and the Children.” If you ever desire a testimony in yom* favor, I shall stand to give it at any time. Accept my heartiest congratulations upon the superb execu¬ tion of this your newest work. Yours truly, THEO. F. JOHN. Copyright. Sermon on the Mount.
