THE McCABE HANGER MANUFACTURING COMPANY 3 Any number of doors may be placed in the opening, com¬ mencing with a one-half door hinged to jamb at either side of the opening. This half door must be exactly one-half the width of the other doors less the throw of hinge. There should be one carriage on each alternate door only, and this carriage should be placed on the exact center of the top rail of the door (see cut). To accomplish this, it is best to hinge the doors together, fold them and strike a line across the centers and set carriage on this line; then when the doors are hung and folded back the hangers will be in perfect alignment and work easily. While we have successfully hung doors of much greater weights than 100 pounds, we recommend that the doors should not exceed this amount if possible, as a carriage is used on each alternate door only, and when the door is folded the entire weight is concentrated on a few inches of track. Doors should not exceed 3 feet in width, if possible. HEAD ROOM —Distance from upper side of jamb head to under side of header: No. 1 and 2 Track is 4/4 inches, No. 3 Track is 6/4 inches (see cut on opposite page). For doors of all same width, see following pages. On this type door the carriage is placed on the end of the door, in¬ stead of the center, as in the Accordion type. The Accordion track is used at the top with the Accordion carriage; the bottom of the door has ball bearing guide, which runs in special pressed steel channel in the floor. Type No. 405 —Used on doors the same as the No. 402 type, with the exception that the doors roll on the floor and guide overhead. This type is used where head room is limited and construction is not strong enough to carry doors. On the above types, as noted by the cut and plan on the preceding pages, all doors are hinged together, making the opening and closing of the parti¬ tions much quicker for the reason that the operator stands at the jamb side of the opening where the doors fold up and is able from this position to open and close the doors, saving the extra walking back and forth across the opening. Door should not exceed 3 feet in width. Manufacturers of All Types of Sliding and Folding D oor H angers
