 At the present time 
 
 stands at the head of any natural production* 
 which has thus far been found, 
 suitable for the purposes requiring a 
 sanitary, non-porous and durable stone. 
 
 It is of a gray color, having a fine, close grain of uniform density. A large 
 percentage of the product is beautifully veined with a white stone, the presence 
 of which evidences the general sanitary excellence of the entire output, and |_dis- 
 tinguishes it from other stones less suited for the purposes indicated. 
 
 Possessing a uniform hardness, it wears as smooth as polished [marble, and 
 is therefore as sweet and clean after years of use as when first put into position. 
 
 This stone is found only at the extensive quarries of the Alberene Stone Co., 
 at Alberene, Va., and, on account of its sanitary excellence, is well suited for the 
 various purposes illustrated in the following pages. 
 
 These illustrations are intended to represent mainly the ALBERENE STONE 
 goods. Each article shown may, however, be furnished with any appropriate fittings 
 which the purchaser may desire.
