KELSEY WARM AIR GENERATORS ?e E ' M BODY features in their construction wholly distinctive of themselves, entirely removing’ the Generator from the plane of the ordinary Hot Air Furnace. Have been manufactured, and in constant operation, since date of their patent, 1889, there being over eight thousand now in active use. Are manufactured in six sizes, of one design, one quality, one in price to the trade universal. HAVE BEEN TESTED BY THOUSANDS AND FOUND PERFECT. KELSEY WARM AIR GENERATORS. 3 * A FFORD DEALERS, a specialty in Warm Air Heating, and provide users, an article equal in worth, to Steam or Hot Water, at a less price. “It is not selling what your competitors sell, that makes profit. It is selling what they do not, and cannot sell." A FFORD DEALERS, an article which they can furnish to the trade, with a degree of profit to themselves, and the user, a Heater which will save its entire cost, in economy of fuel. “It is not underselling your competitors on the same style of goods, that makes money. It is overselling them with , goods of better zvorth." A C ™rl Mrwtr, ♦ “ THE BETTER THE GRADE, VJOOU lVlOllO ♦ THE BIGGER THE TRADE/’ 3 KELSEY WARM AIR GENERATORS* briefly described H 36asc Cast in one piece, forming the bottom of Ash¬ pit and a substantial support for the outside galvanized iron Casing. Bn Bsb=pit Fitted to the base with a cup joint, absolutely preventing escape of dust into the warm air chamber. Sides of Ash-pit are straight, allow¬ ing use of an ash-pan when desirable. XIbe Grates Provided with all our Generators are the Smyth Pattern, having four revolving bars, triangular in shape, presenting to the fire a new surface at each one-third revolution. The bars being each independent, any one can be replaced without the expense of an entire new grate. ^ Is the essential feature of our Generator, which jfirc=Cpltnber entirely removes it from the plane of Hot Air Furnaces. By placing at the top of the Ash- tTnm hti ph, immediately around the grate surface, a VIC nil Italic It number of hollow cast iron sections, nearly Chamber V ” shaped, a perfect cylinder is formed. Notice that the form of these “ V ” shaped, hollow sections, as they face the fire, is perfectly straight; thus prevent¬ ing any accumulation of ashes about the sides of the Fire-clyinder. That part of the lower end of each of these upright, hollow sections, against which rests the fuel in combustion, is 4 inches wide, and 12 inches long, and the thickness of this part of the section is l l 8 inches. It will be noticed that the sides of these sections are deeply corrugated, and in form, widen at the top, thus exposing the greatest amount of heating surface possible directly over the fire. The backs of these hollow, corrugated sections, project one inch beyond the corrugated sides, so that as they stand in position the backs of the sections overlap each other, except for six inches at the top, where the space between the corrugated sides of the sections is left open to provide escape from the combustion chamber. Enwraps the castings of our Generator above the Ash-pit, there being a 3-inch space between the backs of the hollow, corrugated sections and this inside Casing, providing a Draft Cham¬ ber for the Generator. Of our Generator is made of heavy galvanized iron, lined with Asbestos Sheathing and Tin. You will observe that our Outside Casing is not placed directly adjacent to a large, seething, red-hot fire-pot, the result being that the Outside Casing of our Generator never becomes so much heated as to warm the cellar to any perceptible degree, a separate partition in the cellar being unnecessary to separate the Generator from the choicest fruits and vegetables. Damper Regulators are provided with each of our Generators, for perfectly controlling the drafts from the first floor. Which form the Fire-cylinder and Combustion Chamber of our Generator, and through which passes the fresh air conducted to them, have each an inside measurement at the lower end of 36 square inches; inside measurement at the Corrugates upper end, where the heated air is discharged, _ 46 square inches; length of all sections (ex- ^ “ cept in No. 14 Generator), 36 inches; thickness of all sections where they face the fire 1 }i inches; weight of each of the sections about 70 pounds. Each of these long, hollow sec¬ tions has 8 square feet of heating surface, making it really a small, independent Generator of itself; and notice, the fresh air as heated in these hollow sections forming the Fire-cylinder and Combustion Cham¬ ber, instead of being radiated outward, is retained in and conducted upward through these sections to the very top of the Generator, rising with great velocity in separate currents, immediately taking the heat conducting pipes to the several rooms to be heated. We guarantee heat¬ ing distant rooms with absolute surety with our Generator, by capping such a number of these long, hollow sections, as the occasion may require. The success or failure of a Warm Air Generator depends very largely upon its proper supply of fresh air. If one or more sources of fresh air supply for the Heater be taken from the interior of the building to be warmed, a saving of fuel is effected.
