In all products manufactured by us we have borne this in mind and believe that the standing which “Ansonia ” products have with the electrical trade is strong evidence that the “Quality Policy” is appreciated. In this catalog we are showing our entire line of electrical household goods in which “ANSONIA QUALITY” holds throughout, and carries with it our guarantee of satisfaction which can only be given through the use of high grade material and workmanship. THE ANSONIA ELECTRICAL CO. IEILIECCTIRIICAIL MmiUSIE CdDdDUDS dnnunciaton AMSdlMHA, (C(n)MM» A NSONIA Needle Indicating Annunciators are the most simple, durable, and reliable annunciators on the market. Working on the principle of gravity, they have no springs or other unreliable parts to get out of order causing unnecessary trouble, they are absolute in action and will not shake down under the most severe conditions to which annunciators are subjected, unless released by electrical impulse. The pointer is of aluminum highly polished with an obliquely slot¬ ted hole to receive the arbor and is bolted firmly in place, thereby in¬ suring alignment at all times, the indication is made by a full quarter turn, as shown in the cut, making the reading an easy matter. The hinge or bearing on which the armature hangs is of brass, nickeled, and is forced tightly over the core heads, providing a perfectly level support for the armature, assuring freedom of action at the same time holding the coils rigidly in place, making the drop solid and compact. A glance at the accompanying illustration of the drop (which is used exclusively in all of our needle indicating annunciators) will con¬ vince you of the foregoing claim and a thorough examination of same will prove to you the perfection of its mechanical construction. You will note that the top of the annunciator and the upper face board, upon which the bell is mounted, are fastened together, same be¬ ing specially tongued and grooved so that it can be easily removed, at the same time eliminating all unsightly joints in the woodwork on the face of the cabinet; this also does away with the use of hinges or screws which usually mar the general appear¬ ance. It is unnecessary to disturb the signal bell con¬ nections as same go in and out of the circuit auto¬ matically, the binding screws on the inner side of the bell support engaging the upright springs shown in the cut; this arrangement makes instal¬ lation of our annunciator an easy matter and re¬ adjustment as well as changes in connections easily accomplished. All of our annunciators are adjusted to work with bell-ringing transformers. Annunciators listed on the following pages can be obtained through any of the electrical supply jobbers. lElLIECTIRIICAIL MdDTUSIE (Ed])®!]])® Page 4 ,IECTIKI€AL COc REGULAR HOUSE STYLE List No. of Arrangement Outside Measure List No. Drops Across Down Width Height I’rice 301 3 1 3 514" 12" $12.00 302 4 2 2 Ud" 114" 13.00 303 6 2 3 134" 18.00 304 8 2 4 7 >4" 154" 20.00 305 10 2 5 714" 174" 23.00 306 12 3 4 9 >4" 154" 27.00 307 14 4 4 11 4" 154" 30.00 308 16 4 4 114" 154" 33.00 309 20 4 5 114" 174" 37.00 Additions to list prices for equipping with electric setback shown on page 9. While otfered at competitive prices they have no rival on the market and consequently occupy a distinctive place in the bell line, having all the features that are required as adjustable bells, the breaker post screw and also armature at heel being so arranged that the finest adjustment that may be required is easily obtained. Further, the base is completely sealed, no openings therein and is of heavy stamped steel. The cover is of the same material and is readily removed and replaced, having heavy spring clip to hold it in position. The works are thereby fullv protected from the elements, dust, vermin, etc. W hile the above are somewhat lighter in construction than the heavy cast bells, they are just as reliable and as durable as any bell made and carry our usual guarantee. The Transformer Bell is a scientific A.C. hell development. The construction is thoroughly reliable, the cores being laminated and properly wound. Our rocker adjustment at the point of armature suspension, the laminated field and cores, together with the carbon contacts, are such as to produce the most powerful blow, giving the greatest volume of sound with the smallest possible amount of current consumption. This economy of current consumption is of great value, especially where many bells are to l)e ojjerated in parallel, as in school work, where classroom bells are rung simultaneously. We list elsewhere the number of bells of all our models that can be operated at one time by the dift'erent transformers. Contacts : Carbon—Commercial size. Armature Suspension ; Vibrating reed type—no hinges or pivots to wear. All superfluous parts eliminated. Enclosed Alovement: Operating parts thoroughly enclosed and protected by steel case. Insulation: Current carrving parts completelv insulated from frame. It may consequently be mounted on metal frames or lath without danger of ground or short circuit. Finish: Rul)l)erized dull black enamel. UlLIECTlRlICAIL IfUdDUISIE (GdlXlDlIDS Vibrating Type Decisive Points of Superiority Heavy Duty Full-Power Armature—Our new improved method permits the keeping of armature in magnetic field up to the moment of striking the gong, utilizing fully and efficiently all electrical energy applied, thereby producing maximum blow. Frame—Genuine Skeleton Type specially constructed and designed, giving perfect alignment, works centralized. The extra heavy frame used in this bell is, correctly speaking, a Skeleton and not a Solid back type as used in inclosed bells, and is specially designed to keep the coils and movement away from whatever surface the bell may be mounted on, thereby preventing an accumulation of moisture behind the works. Insulated Mechanism—Frame of the bell carries no current at any time, as entire circuit is insulated, consequently may be mounted on metal without fear of grounding. Connections and underside screws are perfectly sealed, rendering short circuiting impossible. All connections are positively secured by soldering to terminal. Locking Side-Contact Post—Split-section side-contact compresses both sec¬ tions against thread of contact-screw and positively locks all screws in position, allowing of extreme close adjustment. llLIECTIRIKCAIL IfUdDUSIE (CdDdDHI)® Page 26 Solid Trunnion-Frame—Of extruded brass, cannot work loose or move in any direction. Lock-nut on trunnion-frame compresses against upper trunnion screw and no amount of jarring can loosen the upper bearing. Extra Heavy Cylindrical Type Trunnion Bearings—No possibility of arma¬ ture breaking away from either upper or lower bearings; construction utilizes full strength of both upper and lower frame castings. Non-Turning Contact and Binding Posts—Non-turning and non-loosening binding posts prevent connections from jarring loose. Contact Points—Contact points are of our special alloy as used in all our bells, or platinum if specified, the former being used unless otherwise specified. Tension Spring Adjustment—By the use of a swiveled armature pin we have eliminated all difficulties encountered in other bells in securing a fine adjustment.
