Digitized by the Internet Archive in 2017oMOTMng from Columbia University Libraries https://archive.org/details/pricelistofarticOOhecl Hecla Works, Oxetda Co., N. Y. April 2 . 1860 . I beg leave to present my Inst for the present year, and offer the prices established for the close of the past season, without material change. In consequence of a fire which recently destroyed the main portion of my manufactory, with the machinery and some patterns, I have omitted from the List all Wrought and Brass Goods. I am manufacturing all other Goods at an establishment, temporarily leased, until 1 can rebuild my factory, which 1 hope to have completed early in June next. In the meantime, all orders, with which you may be pleased to favor me, will be attended to as usual. Yours Respectfully, A. K. SEYMOUR. G A. C. PALMER’S Patent Premium Blind Butts and Fasts. HP These Hinges which have been in use many years, have become a staple article, and are approved wherever used. Their superi- ority over all others, consists in the combination of the most per- fect self-fastening principle, together with strength and simplicity. The use of the Lever in closing the Blind entirely obviates the danger of throwing the Blind from its llingcs, which is an objec- tion to most other kinds of self-shutting Hinges, which have to be raised by the hand in order to close them. The use of Wrought Iron Pins, and other late improvements upon the original patterns, have added greatly to the strength and durability of these Hinges. These Hinges have taken the Highest Premium when put in competition with others. The above cut represents the No. 1, for Wood. It shows the Blind open, with the Lever on the lower Hinge in the position in which it is required to be placed to close the Blind. There is an Inclined Plane, which raises the Blind while opening, until it reaches the wall, when it drops and is securely fastened. To close the Blind, it is only necessary to turn the Lever as represented in the cut, and the Blind will close and fasten on the inside. The Nos. l£, 2, :i, 4, 5. <3, 1 1 and 14, differ only in length and weight. 8 A. C. Palmer’s Patent Blind Butts & Fast. WROUGHT IRON PINS. Per do/. Sets. No. 1 — For Wood, If in. Those Hinges have the following advantages over those of sim- ilar construction : They are Self-Fastening ami can be operated without reaching out of the window.' They are strong and cheap, and can be hung simply by the use of a gimlet and screw-driver. The pins are placed in such a position as to cover the sockets, thus obviating the danger of breaking or rendering them other- wise inoperative by the collection of snow or sleet. These Hinges have a fastening attached which prevents the Blind from being raised off by the wind, or when fastening; and the Blind cannot be taken off except when in one position.
