Orders for Sash should state the size of glass, number of lights in a window, thickness, if plain or check rail, glazed or unglazed. For segment or circle corner windows, always give the radius of the seg¬ ment and circle corner. For circle head, segment head, and circle corner windows, always state whether they are wanted to finish circle inside and outside like Plan Nos. A and C, on page 6, or to finish circle on outside only, as Plan Nos. B and D on same page. Also where frames are made, the width and height of frame in the clear, should he given. Orders for Doors should state size, thickness, number of panels, and if first or second quality ; if moulded, say if one or both sides, sunk or raised moulding. Orders for Outside Blinds should state size of glass, num ber of lights in window, thickness of Blinds; if for segment head windows, give radius of segment; also, if for wood or brick building. Orders for Inside Blinds should state exact size of opening, the number of folds (width of box, if any), and if panel or slats, and where Blinds are to be hung. Orders for Mouldings should give the number of Moulding, and the page ; also, state whether taken from our own book or the Universal Moulding Book, as we furnish from either. P. S.—We will deliver our goods and load in cars (with our own men), free of charge, to any lumber yard in the city, and would request our customers to order Doors, Sasb, Blinds, etc., direct of us, which will insure their receiving our own manufacture and prompt attention. In giving such orders, we would suggest to our trade to always order our goods a little in advance of their Lumber, and notify their Lum¬ bermen of the fact of our having goods to be loaded in their cars. 4 Observe directions on page 5 in giving your orders. When a flight of Stairs is wanted, we should know the height of story from floor to floor, width of joist in second story, width and run of stairs, the size of cylinder, style of base used in the hall, with rough sketch showing about the shape of stairs wanted. For Stair Hailing, Straight Flight, we require the width of rise and step as sawed out on string board, the number of risers, the size of cylinder from face to face of string or face board, which way it turns at head of stairs, and the number of feet of straight rail required at landing. Inlees we receive plan showing otherwise, we always suppose the top riser for a straight flight of stairs to be placed at the edge or spring of cylinder. For Circular or Winding Stairs, we should have an exact plan of stairs Ss built, giving the width of rise and step, the location of risers in cylinder, etc., and when there are straight steps below or above the cylinder, as per plans Nos. 1 and 5, page 70, always give the dis¬ tance from the first square riser to the edge or spring line of cylinder on the face of string or face board (see «, b, c, plans 1 and 5).
