H. MULT^TNS. aVSIV USRAKt 1897 • •• INTRODUCTION. 1897 \ have compiled and issued this catalogue especially for the use of the architect, contractor and those who contemplate building, VEy showing a complete assortment of designs of various classes of work, which will enable them to select from stock designs, ^ shown herein, cornices, building fronts, wrought iron work, etc., suitable for almost every style of building. The work shown in this catalogue can be furnished at a much lower cost than if made from special designs, as we make .same in large quantities by steam power machinery, and the cost of patterns and placing of dies is thereby divided among a large number, whereas, if special designs are' required, these items of cost are necessarily included in the cost of one job. All work shown in this catalogue, unless otherwise specified, is priced to be made of the very best quality of crimped galvanized iron or steel, ornamented with heavy stamped zinc ornaments, all joints soldered and riveted, and all parts made in the best manner and of the most improved construction known to the trade. All cornices are furnished complete in as large sections as convenient for transportation, with all mouldings, brackets and ornaments attached, so that only vertical joints are necessary at building, and every part marked and numbered, so that by the aid of construction drawings and directions, which are furnished with the work, any carpenter, tinner or handy man can readily put it on the building. If desired, we can also furnish them in knock-down shape, that is to say, the mouldings and enrichments in separate, straight lengths; the brackets, trusses, panels, miters, etc., complete, joined, but not put together in large sections. If ordered in this manner, much better freight rates can be secured, and with the complete construction drawings furnished with each job, they can be very readily sectioned together by any good tinner. Any of the designs shown are subject to modification, and can be either enlarged or reduced and changed to suit your requirements, but any variation from catalogue sizes will necessitate an increase of cost, as our dies and patterns are all made for catalogue sizes. Prices for making any of the designs to special sizes will be quoted on application. Most of the work shown in the catalogue can be readily reproduced in copper, and prices for making same in this metal will be quoted on application. The work, when made in this material, after a short exposure to the weather, assumes a rich, dark bronze color, which adds greatly to its artistic effect. We show many designs of cornices, varying in size from 24 inches in depth to 75 inches, with a corresponding variation in the projection and ornamentation of same ; also several designs of window and door caps, and from pages to to 27 we show a large variety of superb designs for sheet metal building fronts. On the rock face fronts we make the imitation rock work very rough and bold, making a handsome and durable front for the building. We wish to call particular attention to our large variety of designs for Finials and Weather Vanes, our Patent Spanish Tile Roofing Plates and Roof Trimmings, Wrought Iron Grilles and Awnings, Stamped and Embossed Ceilings (especially our new Rococo design). Ceiling Center Pieces, Skylights and Embossed Sheet Metal Boats, all of which are fully described under the proper headings. Correspondence with architects, builders and contractors solicited. All inquiries cheerfully answered, and prompt attention given to any estimates or work entrusted to us. Liberal discount to the trade. Yours very truly. Salem, Ohio, U. S. A. W. H. MULLEINS. A. eT All duck shooters, fishermen and others who use rowing boats for sporting or pleasure have had trouble with their wooden boats drying out when put away in storaga over winter, or left expo,'ed to the sun or weather when in use; and again, becoming heavy and water-logged when kept in service for any length of time; opening up the seams and joints in one case, or too heavy for use in the other. To remedy and overcome these defects, we have brought out our new Stamped and Embos.sed Sheet Metal Boats, and a trial or examination of them will at once con- vince the sportsman or boatman of their immense superiority over any wooden boats made. The lowest cost boat we make, which is made of galvanized steel, is thoroughly well made and finished, and is a perfect and serviceable boat that will stand the hardest and most constant use for years, while the manganese bronze and aluminum boats are practically indestructible and should last a lifetime. •■GET THERE” SAFETY DUCKING BOAT.
