COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AT 30 ' >0 Boston, Mass., 1889. Dear Sir: In again presenting to 3*011 our catalogue, we wish to call your attention to our removal from our old stand, on the corner of Stillman Street, to 11 and 12 Charlestown Street, which we were forced to do by the rapid increase in our business. We have now larger and more commodious quarters, situated directly in front of the Boston & Maine depot. To our success we attribute the facilities we have of filling our orders promptly, the quality of our goods, and the lowness of our prices for first quality of goods. We make a specialty of Wood Mantels, of which we keep a large assortment on hand; and we make them to order at short notice. We should be pleased to show you our goods, and if you should look through our three floors at 11 and 12 Charlestown Street, and then through our five floors on Beverly Street, which comprises our factor}*, we would let you decide whether we have not the best facilities of getting out everything in the Building- Trimming line of an}* house in Boston. Thanking you for past favors, and respectfully soliciting a continuance of the same, we remain, Yours respectfully, 0. J}. Millw g(£) We would specially call your attention to our large and varied stock of PINE AND WHITEWOOD MOULDINGS, which are made from the best kiln-dried stock; they are all concaved on the back, and require less labor in putting them on than those manufactured by other houses. MILLEX & CO., DIRECTIONS For Ordering Stair=Work. 1. Give number and sizes of Newel Post, Rail, and Balusters; what Frame-post is wanted, if any. It would be well, when ordering, to give a sketch or drawing of stairs. 2. In ordering give us the exact rise and run of your Stringer as sawed in the rough. 3. Give number of Risers instead of number of steps. 4. Length of Rail on Gallery, measuring from face of gallery-board, — we allowing for all projections of nosings. 5. If the stairs are straight, with a continued rail, at landing, state how much the well-hole sets in back of the face of the top riser, giving the radius of well-hole; and if landing-post is to be used, state if well-hole is square, — if not, give the radius. 6. If the stairs are circular, make a diagram, and give the exact width of each step on face stringer, as sawed, giving size of well-hole. 7. In all cases state whether the Rail is on the right or left hand going up stairs ; and which is wanted, Straight or Side Ease. 8.
