PAM, MISC, As for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord, in ceasing to pray for you—I Sam. xii. 23. WEEKLY PRAYER CYCLE FOR THOSE STUDYING THE WHY AND HOW OF FOREIGN MISSIONS. Sunday.—Pray for the Church everywhere that all may so realize the Love of God that they will gladly give their lives to teach all nations; and that those who cannot go to foreign lands may by their prayers share in the work; that in this generation all may hear of Christ. Monday.—Pray for the Church at home and its Board of Missions that grace and wisdom may be given both to choose and send, and support and strengthen all the missionaries who go to carry the Gospel to all parts of the world. Tuesday.—Pray for all Christian missionaries and their families, that they may be kept sound in body, mind and spirit; that the power of Christ may be made perfect in all their weakness; that they may be given tact and love to overcome all human opposition ; that their zeal may increase and triumph over monotony and dis- couragement; that their prayer life may equal their opportunities for service. Wednesday.—Pray for the evangelistic work, that by both native and foreign missionaries Christ may be preached with power; for the medical work, that it may dispel prejudice and win friendship ; for the educational work, that it may develop character and train teaders; that the spirit of Christ may be manifest in all these forms of work. Thursday.—Pray for the native Churches; for their leaders; for those recently won and sorely tempted; for those attending the services, schools and dispensaries; for those under stirrings of con- science, that they may be brought to Christ. Friday.—Pray for the great multitudes yet unevangelized, that they may recognize that the missionaries are their best friends; for the women and children living in distant lands, that they may come to know the fullness of their inheritance in Christ, that there may be created for them Christian homes, and that women here may go in great numbers to bring this to pass. Saturday.—Pray for the missionary work in confronting its great secular problems; that the forces of civilization may promote right- eousness; that those from Christian lands, and especially navy, army and government officers, may set an example worthy of their priv- ileges. Pray for this study of missions, that it may awaken our con- sciences, stimulate us to want to know more, to pray more, and to find thro prayer and Bible Study God’s plan for us and for the world.
