The Fifth Avenue stages traversing one of the most interestinj thoroughfares in the world, are on block west. 1 B B i To the north, the 34th Street cross- town cars connect with the Pennsyl- vania Terminal, while one block east the Subway or Madison Avenue surface line makes the Grand Central Terminal and uptown points of interest easy of access. Modern Equipment The hotel contains four hundred and fifty rooms, single and en suite. Each room is steam heated, is supplied with hot and cold running water, electricity, telephone and has direct outside expos- ure, ensuring excellent ventilation. In addition to the private baths there are numerous baths on each floor for the free use of guests; the plumbing is exposed and of the most modern and sanitary character. Mail chutes are located on each floor and filtered ice- water is piped throughout the bujlding. The Library An exceptionally attractive feature is the Library on the Parlor floor. Here the guest will find a complete and di- versified collection of literature. Books from the New York Public Library may be secured upon applicatior to the Librarian in charge, who is affili- ated with that institution. Hotel MarthaWashington The Librarian is a woman of ex- perience and culture, who will be found ( fully capable of answering any inquiries and suggesting literature to meet the taste or requirements of the guests. Drawing Room On the second floor, also, are the Draw- ing Rooms. These rooms may also be | used for the reception of visitors, for afternoon teas, club meetings, recep- tions, etc. Smoking Room A pleasant concession to the comfort of the sterner sex are the smoking quarters where gentlemen may enjoy a quiet smoke. Cuisine Unexcelled Particularly delightful features are the Colonial Tea Room and the Restaurant, both located on the main floor.
