If there are to be any curves give the exact radius, also the beginning and end of the points of the curye; or, what is better, send a full-sized DIAGRAM of the curved portions. If there are to be cash holes, give exact location both in relation to ends of rail, distance above desk, size and shape, and whether they are to have closing doors. If gates are desired, state exact location and size, whether single or double, and which way to swing and whether any part of the railing is to stand independent ; or if ends are to a wall or partition, please state whether of brick, lath, plaster or wood. A sketch of the ground plan of the rail should always be sent with order, showing all distances between points, and, if necessary, this should beaccompanied by an elevation plan of the same. Also note if there are any jogs to fit surrounding wood-work. Please be particular in stating the number of the pattern wanted, whether with or without pickets, rosettes, ic., and the color to be ])ainted.
