HEADQUARTERS, Room 901, 156 Fifth Ave. Lev. XXIII: ro. j HE year 1910-11 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the beginning of woman's organized work for Foreign Missions in America. It has seemed advisable to the Central Committee on United Study, which rep- resents the leading denominations with the approval of Women’s Foreign Mission Boards, to hold a series of meetings, beginning in October, 1910, covering thirty of the largest cities, East and West, culminating in a great gathering in New York, in the Spring of 1911. To this end the Committee has secured the services of Mrs. W. A. Montgomery, who will, with other representative women, present the cause of woman’s work in Foreign’ Missions. Western Circuit Oakland, Minneapolis, Portland, Milwaukee, Seattle, Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Lincoln, Cincinnati, Omaha, Detroit, Kansas City, Northwestern St. Louis, University, St. Paul, De Pauw University. Eastern Circuit Cleveland, Louisville, Nashville, Washington, Baltimore, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Buffalo, Albany and Troy Springfield, New Haven, Providence, Boston, Portland, New York. From the Jubilees already held come reports of large and enthus- iastic gatherings—audiences moved by a sense of individual responsi- bility—thank offerings amounting to over $300,000. Everywhere the note of prayer has been the deepest undertone of the meetings, the most triumphant note, that of unity. The Woman's Union Missionary Society, the first Woman's Society for Foreign Mission Work, was organized in New York in 1860, by Mrs. T. C. Doremus, of hallowed memory. It is therefore fitting that in New York should be held the National Jubilee, the climax of all the Jubilee Meetings. It is also fitting that the Chairman of the New York Committee should be Mrs. Samuel J. Broad- well, the President of the “Woman’s Union Missionary Society.” The following Churches and Societies are represented on the Com- mittee : Baptist, Congregational, Disciples of Christ, Religious Society of Friends, Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Protestant Episcopal, Reformed (Dutch) Church in America, Woman's Union Missionary Society, National Board, Y. W.C. A., and Young Women’s Christian Association of New York. The Him of the subilee. A Revival of Interest. An Awakening of Interest. More Missionaries. Thanksgiving—That we live in this glorious crisis day of the world’s history That we are entrusted with things not easy to do. That God does not exclude us from present privilege because of past negligence. That we have His promise for "all sufficiency in all things." Penitence—F or unbelief, selfishness and lack of sympathy with missionaries and fellow Christian workers. “ They limited the Holy One of Israel.”’ “ He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. pS For racial antipathies that prevent loving of my neighbor as myself. Petition—That the Jubilee may open the vision of those unaware of, or indifferent to, the things of the Kingdom. That the appointed program of the Jubilee, so far as it represents the will of God, may be victoriously carried out. That the Jubilee may not degenerate into glorifying woman’s work but only glorify God. That the spiritual motive may be always supreme. That the speakers and all committees may have grace to be wise, buoyant and full of faith. That the women in every church and community may be moved to contribute in full measure from whatever influence, time or means, God has bestowed upon them.
