VITROLITE EVERLASTING SLAB MATERIAL ARP GLE DEO PemeOOlbo COLUEGES - UNIVERSITIES Vitrolite slabs in varying sizes are ‘‘set”? over any wall surfacing by means of a patented elastic cement that clings to the wall. This cement adjusts itself to settling, shrinkage or expansion, and absorbs shocks. ITROLITE is a material fire-fused from those minerals that form nature’s hardest rock. It is manufactured in pure white, jet black, and colors, in slabs ranging in size up- wards to 40x 84, and in thickness from % to 1 inch. These slabs are used for wall finishing and industrial material, and for tops of tables and other fixtures. Vitrolite appeals to every one because of its obvious cleanliness. Its perfectly smooth surface is impossible to stain even with inorganic acids. There 1s nothing about it to hold odors or breed bacteria. It is easy to clean and keep clean; in fact, the stroke of a damp cloth is all that is ever necessary. Unlike other materials used for structural surfacing, it will always remain in its perfect condition, never crazing or discoloring. It is freproof, and although as hard as flint, will not crack if quickly heated or chilled. The Ustrolite Company has organized sales and installation organizations all over the world. These agencies are comprised of factory-trained work- men who understand the material and handle it without waste or experi- ment. Each organization has its own shop where Vitrolite is cut and ground to fit. The whole country is within a short distance of some one such construction company and will be quickly and expertly served by it. CLEANLINESS AND LIGHT FOR SCHOOLS Vitrolite 1s the ideal wall material— unchanged by age NSPECT the next school walls or wainscot- ings you see. Recall those in the school of which you are a guiding factor. Are they clean, white and sanitary? Too many are unsightly. Pure flawless white identifies those made of Vit- rolite. Closer examination will reveal in the clean walls a perfectly smooth surface hard as flint, and white as snow. No other product known to builders today can qualify for the job of modern- izing school toilets and washrooms as can Vit- rolite. An examination of the oldest sample of struc- tural Vitrolite available will show that there is no effect of wear on its surface. A crushing test has shown Vitrolite to be harder than concrete. All labor of upkeep is minimized where Vit- rolite is used. The stroke of a damp cloth takes the place of redecorating or costly grinding process. Write for a sample of Vitrolite and subject it to your own tests and with the vision of its cleanliness and knowledge of its resistive qual- ities, compare it with the toilet wall and par- titions in your school. [ PAGE THREE ] A toilet in ae Cobb-Cook High School, Hibbing. nie Vitrolite toilet partitions set in such a manner that only Vitrolite is exposed—and Vitrolite is permanently attractive. NO OBSCENE MARKINGS ON WALLS ‘Urtrolite will not show pencil, pen or knife marks The tendency to write obscene matter on toilet walls and toilet partitions 1s thwarted by the use of Vitrolite. Its smooth, glossy surface will not show the marks of pencil, pen, or knife. The tendency to mark walls is best controlled by removing the material which will mark. This moral factor alone sells Vitrolite to school boards. The case for Vitrolite only begins with this point, however. An antiseptic, fresh, clean toilet room can be easily attained and maintained by using Vitrolite. It will not afford a breeding place for bacteria, nor hold odors. A room of the size shown above can be wiped with a damp cloth once a week and be clean and wholesome. The strongest sterilizing agents cannot injure it. Vitrolite multiplies light. Vitrolite rooms re- quire only half as much artificial light as a plaster room. To facilitate the use of Vitrolite, a toilet par- tition has been perfected which is installed ex- clusively by the Vitrolite branch agents. The panel is laminated and therefore vibration proof. No metal is exposed to corrode or form verdigris. Vitrolite toilets and washrooms will make any school more sanitary and more economical to maintain and will provide a protection to the health of the pupils. EVEN INORGANIC ACIDS OR ALKALI WILL NOT REACT WITH VITROLITE ‘Uitrolite withstands the ‘Red Ink Test N chemistry class rooms, and domestic science rooms, Vitrolite slabs are widely used. Vitrolite will not stain, become un- sightly or contaminating. It 1s moulded in such large slabs (up to 40x84) that there is no need for joints. The entire working sur- face is clean and smooth. Vitrolite facilitates class room work by reflecting light. Its pure white surface will aid in keeping an orderly spick-and-span appearance which is becom- ing to the class room. Vitrolite walls and ceilings in the chemical and domestic science class rooms are silent monitors of scientific cleanliness. They pay in the long run, for they need no redecorat- ing and will outlive the building. Vitrolite is made in jet black as well as white. Some school boards prefer the black material for working table tops in place of white. Either is suitable and both possess the same desirable qualities which so well fit them for the service necessary. [PENG Herc Ee) What could better whet the appetites of pupils or assure cleanly foods, than these cheerful, bright surroundings of Vitrolite. CHEERFUL CLEANLINESS FOR CAFETERIAS ATING places which depend upon the passing public for their patronage have long since found that Vitrolite on table tops attracts and holds business. This is due to the cleanliness and sanitation which Vitro- lite’s glistening surfaces imply. There is, too, an economic reason for Vitrolite’s wide ac- ceptance in commercial and industrial eating places. Vitrolite saves the expense of table linen—a startlingly big item. It costs less to keep up Vitrolite equipped eating places, for a damp cloth with an effortless stroke re- moves all spots and spillings. A school eating place must be economical- ly operated. Lunches cannot cost much, yet they must be appetizingly served. The en- vironment under which they are consumed directly affects the extent to which nourish- ment benefits. All these facts, and many more, point to Vitrolite as an ideal material for school eating places. The interests of sanitation and economy may be best served on the walls and ceilings of school kitchens. It is also the ideal ma- terial for table tops and exteriors and in- teriors of refrigerators.
