ROSENBERG ELEVATOR eee NY MILWAUKEE, are ~f OU will note, in this Catalogue, that || simplicity of construction charac- terizes all Rosenberg Elevators. From the smallest Dumb-Waiter to Freight Elevators of the heav- iest capacity, there is a noticeable freedom from complicated design both in ma- chines and accessory equipment. That’s one big reason why every Rosen- berg installation has been successful — because in elevator construction, as in every other line, few parts mean few repairs. Simplicity makes for safety and long service. In addition, Rosenberg Elevators are cor- rect mechanically, and the material and work- manship entering into every part is of the very highest class. Our positive guarantee is made a part of every sale and protects the purchaser, abso- lutely, against faulty construction and defective material. We solicit correspondence from interested parties and stand ready at all times to furnish, on request, sketches and estimates free of all charge. x ~ 7 o ty Q cs 3 lp ) _ s _ sip) S 7) : >» rte " Sie Bek OS HANG BsEARG ELEVATOR COMPANY MILWAUKEE, U. S. A. Figure 1. Here is illustrated the smallest size of our self- contained machines. It is built for capacities up to 100 Ibs. The small sheaves run on steel pins, and the main shaft in babbitted bearings. With the aid of blue prints which we furnish, any mechanic of ordinary ability can easily install this machine, as all sheaves and bearings are part of the main frame and cannot be placed in wrong position. These machines can be furnished single and double faced; that is, with one or two hand-wheels at oppo- site sides, and are so arranged that the balance weight can be placed at the right or left hand or in rear. These machines are made to suit hatchways up to about 26 inches square. ee Figure 2. This illustration represents our Self - Geared Machine, which is built in two sizes, viz.: 300 and 500 Ibs. They are heavily geared and the smaller machine is strong enough to raise a barrel of flour and like articles with the least effort. In principle, this machine is similar to the 100-Ib. machine, with the addition of a second shaft which carries the large gear and hoisting sheave. The hand- wheel can be placed on either end of pinion shaft, making it right or left handed. The machine is very compact and can be put up by any carpenter in a short time with the help of blue prints which we furnish. All bearings are contained in the main frame and are not liable to get out of line. The main shafts operate on graphite bearings. The brake is automatic and holds the car at any place without the use of extra brake ropes. Figure 3 illustrates our direct-acting Dumb-Waiter Fixtures. Figure 4 shows same fixtures installed. Used in offices, stores and restau- rants where the capacity does not exceed 40 Ibs., this outfit gives the best of satis- faction. Sectional weights are used so as to balance the car as near as practic- able. All sheaves are of large diameter and operate on steel pins. We can ship this outfit complete or fix- tures only. Figure 4. Figure 5. Car Fig. 6 is es- pecially designed for use in bakeries and similar establish- ments, and can be furnished with as many stationary shelves as desired. These cars may be ordered from our standard list, or we will build special sizes to suit open- ings. Figures 5 and 6 illustrate our stand- ard construction of Dumb-Waiter Cars, which may be used with any of our ma- chines up to 350 Ibs. capacity. The cars are entirely con- structed of oak. Carel Comm LS adapted for use in residences, stores and the like, and can be furnished with or without movable shelves. Figure 6. Figure 7. Figure 7 illustrates our Spring Brake Band Ma- chine designed to carry 75 to 100 lbs. quickly from floor to floor. All parts rest on an iron plate, thereby assuring perfect alignment. The brake band is leather lined and operates on a steel pin. The main shaft has babbitted bearings, to which the hoisting sheaves, brake pulley and hand-wheel are keyed, not depending on set screws, which are generally used. An ideal ma- chine for the purpose for which it is designed. Figure 8. Figure 8 illustrates our Geared Brake Band Machine, which is built in two sizes, viz.: 300 and 500 Ibs. capacity. This fixture may be operated with the cars shown as in figures 5 and 6, or with a platform as per figure 11, the latter being best adapted. A %-inch diameter fine wire rope is used on the hoisting sheave, 7%.-inch manila hand rope and %s-inch manila brake rope. The brake band is leather lined, and this ensures a smooth and noiseless stop. The shafts are of heavy construction and operate in brass graphite bearings. This machine is used in apartment buildings, hotels, restaurants, light manufacturing establishments and the like. Figure 9. Figure 9 illustrates our Drum Type Hand Eleva- tor Fixture. This machine is built in two sizes, viz.: 750 and 1200 Ibs. capacities, and its installation with the platform shown in figure 11 makes a very desir- able outfit for hardware stores, light manufacturing plants, warehouses, etc. All parts are set in an iron frame. All bearings are of the anti-friction roller type as used in our larger machines. The brake band is leather lined and very powerful, operated by the lever and rack style, on the ends of which ropes are fastened leading to sides of shaft and readily accessible to the operator. The drum is constructed of wood and iron, grooved to fit the cable. We carry these machines in stock for immediate shipment. Figure 10. Figure 10 illustrates our Semi-Automatic Self-Clos- ing Gate, which may be used on either Hand or Power Elevators. This gate is entirely constructed of oak lumber, operating between pine slide posts. The gate is raised by hand when the elevator is at the landing and closes automatically when elevator is either ten inches above or below landing, thereby obviating pos- sibility of accidents in the shaft. Blue prints furnished with each order, giving full instructions as to the instal- lation. We furnish this gate complete or fixtures only. Figure 11. HAND POWER ELEVATOR. This Elevator is especially adapted for buildings where. power is not available. There are two /o-inch cables attached to the platform, each tested to 6,000 lbs. capacity. The oper- ating rope is of manila, with diameter of 11% inches. The shafts are 1'%6 inches in diameter and run in anti-friction rollers, which makes the elevator work very easy. This Hoist can also be made corner post construc- tion, in which case it can be used from three sides. Our brake device is very powerful and handles any load with perfect ease. We balance our machines so they will lift from one to two hundred pounds without mechanical appliance. The weight is of the sectional pattern, permitting of easy adjustment at any time. Figure 12 illustrates our Livery Hoist, which is well adapted for any line of goods requiring a large platform, where room cannot be spared on the lower floor for posts as used in ordinary hoists. This Elevator may be used with slides, as here shown, on the side of the wall, or it may be used without any whatever, as when placed in the center of a building, in which case the adjustable counter-balance weight would be carried away to some adjoining wall. There are five fine wire ropes used on this hoist, each fastened independently to the hoisting drums. One cable carries the weight, the other four being fastened to the four corners of the large platform by adjustable sockets. These ropes are each capable of carrying over twice the full load possible to place upon the platform. Every hoist is built very substantial, of the best materials, the object being to attain durability and smooth, easy running, without being so very heavy as to appear clumsy. Our Improved Brake and Locker makes it the easiest handled hoist offered to-day. The prices of these machines depend on travel and capacity. Figure 13. Figure 13 illustrates our Direct Lift Plunger Elevator, which may be operated by city pressure or from a tank system. We build these machines for both passenger and freight service, and of any speed or capacity desired. Full particulars as to its construction and opera- tion sent upon request. 14 DUMB-WAITER, HAND-POWER ELEVATOR. “ = a = —— Hatch 262— — + — = -Carinclear 19 fp” =4T - tia SAK 1 - Bet.
