Our Building Specialties are all standard QUAL- ITY PRODUCTS, in which you can have absolute reliance, several of them being innovations in the building field that have proven of great value. In selecting this stock we have given particular thought to wall and roof constructions, realizing that they are the most important items of a house. The ORNAMENT stock was selected with care, thought being given to the needs of our customers and the usefulness of the designs. While used ex- tensively by the Theatrical and Motion Picture In- dustries, we find that there has been a considerable increase in their use among home owners as many of the designs give splendid results for interior decoration. Since the inception of the Fibre Wallboard Indus- try we have been specialists in this field. Beaver Wallboard was the original and first wallboard manufactured and we have been Eastern distributors since its origination. We also carry practically every reputable wallboard manufactured today and have samples, prices and literature on all wallboards at our General Offices. {In addition, we are the distributors ot Bestwall, Beaver Gypsum Wall, Sheetrock and Gypsolite (Gypsum Products), which have proven very effec- tive for different classes of construction. Consider- ing the number of years we have devoted to this particular part of building construction we feel we are able to make helpful suggestions in solving wall problems. “Creo-Dipt” Stained Shingles are a familiar prod- uct throughout this territory. We have been dis- tributing them for many years and they always give excellent service. WVulcanite Asphalt Shingles are also eminent products supplied in exclusive designs, which for beauty and durability are unequalled. At our General Offices we have our various prod- ucts on exhibition so that customers may see exact- ly how the products will appear in use. Several rooms are walled entirely with Beaver Wallboard, showing different panel designs. In addition we have partitions of Beaver Gypsum Wall and Sheet- rock enabling our customers to see exactly what effect is obtainable with them. Ever since our inception Prompt Courteous Service has been our slogan and a good measure of our success is due to our strict adherence to this. As our methods of merchandising and the nature of our service differs so greatly from the average Lum- ber Yard we are referred to among our customers as the Unique Lumber Yards A particular reason for this title is our ability to supply everything, from Ornaments to Yellow Pine Timbers, and also because all of our stock is com- pletely under cover. We carry the most assorted stock in the East and can always give a customer absolute satisfaction. The QUALITY of our products you may depend on, as they are selected with the utmost care, the good will and satisfaction of our customers being our entire consideration. Our equipment is such as to enable us to give exceptional service, frequently making deliveries within an hour from receipt of order. Particular attention is given to our delivery system as we fully realize the aggravation, loss of time, and expense involved in slow deliveries and unkept promises. We would be very thankful indeed for any cour- tesies extended us and trust you will find it possible to use some of our products occasionally. Your orders will certainly be handled in such a way as to warrant their continuance. Very truly yours, DYKES’ LUMBER: COMPANY. Using random widths varying from 4 to 12 inches, the monotony of a plain side wall is over- come. They can be laid so as to break joints one over the other, and provide a triple thickness at every point. This means a weather protection not afforded by other materials; a warmer house in winter——cooler in summer. The artistic advantages and adaptability of ‘““(CREO-DIPT“ Stained Shingles are beyond comparison. Many color and architectural treatments are possible. For true Colonial treat- ment ‘Dixie White” gives all the soft texture of southern whitewashed shingles without the “painty: look’ so often noticeable in wide clapboard and painted shingle work. Another very attractive effect is possible by using the spe- cial “CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles cut with wavy butts for a thatched roof effect. The thatched effect is obtained by having no sharp angles, by rounding the ridges, gable ends and eaves, and furring the valleys, and by using “CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles on rounded surfaces bent with or against the grain as the architecture may require. Let us submit special color samples of ““CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles which have been used on many fine homes to pro- duce thatched effects, together with detail and working drawings. HE “CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles are 24 inches long, — laid 12 inches to the weather for the wide shingle ex- posure and are of variegated color effect of white, gray, green and black. On the roof, ‘““CREO-DIPT” 16-inch Stained Shingles were laid, using the same colors as on the walls, with the addition of red and yellow. A very odd fascinating combination of colors. This home of Dr. George W. Hawley, Bridgeport, Conn., is a striking example of how “CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles are used to give a variegated color effect. The large 24-inch gray, green and black shingles, laid with 12-inch exposure, not only make a very pleasing appearance, but provide a double thickness of material, giving a weather protection unequalled by any other side wall material. “CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles are sawed from logs cut from the best portions only, of selected, first growth, British Columbia Red cedar—parallel widths—free of sap—square sawed—vertical grained. The “CREO-DIPT” process of creosoting and coloring causes each shingle to be treated separately. The coloring is uniform and permanent, and the preserving sure and thorough. ‘“‘CREO-DIPT” Stained Shingles will last twice as long as any unstained or brush coated shingles, or those treated on the premises or in any other man- ner.
