 % RAILROAD RATES. 
 «t« RATE OF ONE CE^r A MILE has been made 
 XX by all roads east of the Mississippi River and 
 south of the Ohio and Potomac Rivers,. includ- 
 ing the line of the C. & O. Railroad. This means one 
 cent for every mile traveled, coming and going. 
 
 From all points in Arkansas and Texas, to either 
 Pine Bluff or Little Rock, Ark., the rate will be one 
 fare for the round trip. From Pine Bluff and Little 
 Rock, the fare will be one cent a mile. 
 
 The time limit on tickets returning has been fixed 
 at June lo. This limit can be extended to June 25, by 
 presenting tickets to the Joint Railroad Agent at Louis- 
 ville ON OR BEFORE JUNE 2, and on p%ment of 50 cents. 
 
 Tickets will be sold from points in Kentucky and 
 Tennessee on May 28, 29 and 30, and from other States 
 on May 27, 28 and 29. 
 
 Special round trip rate from Washington, $13.25. 
 From other points in the East, one fare to Washington. 
 
 Special rate from St. Louis, round trip, I6.50, and 
 from Chicago, $8.00.

AT THE DEPOT. 
 
 If you are not thoroughly familiar with the city, 
 
 .■ stop at the Information Bureau in the depot after you 
 
 I leave the train. All necessar}' information will be fur- 
 
 i nished here, and a messenger will guide you to your 
 
 State Headquarters, if desired. 
 
 Members of the Information Committee will be 
 -.cattered about the city, willing and ready to render 
 all assistance possible. If you want to know anything, 
 do not hesitate to ask a member of this committee 
 (known by his badge). If no committeeman be in 
 sight, ask any citizen, and you will receive a courteous 
 answer. 
 
 BAGGAGE. 
 Confine your baggage, if possible, to hand valises. 
 If you must bring a trunk, the best plan will be to ship 
 it ahead by express. 
 
 AS TO QUARTERS. 
 
 In the back of this pamphlet will be fdund a list of 
 hotels, boarding houses, private houses, restaurants, 
 etc., where Veterans and visitors with them can find 
 quarters. 
 
 Expectant visitors and Veterans are urged to write 
 to the Chairman of the Hotels Committee, G. E. John- 
 son, 436 West Jefferson Street, at the very earliest 
 moment, requesting that quarters be reserved. Give 
 the exact number that will be in your party, the num- 
 ber of ladies, if any, and the best rate you can pay per 
 day per person for accommodations. Quarters will 
 then^be assigned you, and you will be notified of their 
 location by mail. This is very important. 
 
 Do NOT WRITE FIRST TO BOARDING HOUSES. In 
 many cases parties have already been assigned to 
 boarding houses in the list printed. Especially is this 
 the case with the lower priced places. 
 
 FREE QUARTERS. 
 The Reunion Committee will provide free sleeping 
 quarters for Veterans only who may be unable to pay 
 
their way. These quarters will be on cots in halls and 
 public buildings. 
 
 To secure free quarters, it will be absolutely neces- 
 sairy to report first at j'our State Headquarters, where 
 tickets will be issued. It is not necessary that you be 
 a member of a Camp to secure these quarters, but they 
 will only be provided for Confederate Veterans. 
 
 HEADQUARTERS. 
 
 General Gordon and staff will have their headquar- 
 ters at the Louisville Hotel, Main Street, between Sixth 
 and Seventh. 
 
 General J. M. Poyntz, of Kentucky, with his staff, 
 will have headquarters at the Louisville Hotel. 
 
 A building for headquarters will be provided for 
 every State. Veterans are urged to go to their State 
 headquarters immediately on arriving at Louisville. 
 Badges, etc., will be issued by State or Camp Com- 
 mandants or Adjutants at these State headquarters. 
 A list of such headquarters, and their locations, will 
 be found in the front of this pamphlet. 
 
 CONFEDERATE REUNION HALL. 
 
 This hall will be located at Sixth and the River 
 Front. It will have a seating capacity of 10,000. Here 
 the important meetings will be held. The hall is 
 almost in the center of the city, within walking dis- 
 tance of every big hotel, and near every street car line. 
 
 THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, 
 
 This Committee will have its permanent headquar- 
 ters at 436 West Jefferson Street, between Fourth and 
 Fifth.

 STREET CAR LINES. 
 
 Louisville's system of street cars is as complete as 
 any in the United States. One live-cent fare will take 
 a passenger to any part of the city. Cars from the de- 
 pots pass every State Headquarters.

 In order to insure quick delivery of mail, instruct 
 your friends to address your letters care of your State 
 Headquarters. You can have your letters addressed 
 thus, whether or not you are a member of a Camp. 
 There will be a comrade at every State Headquarters to 
 look after mail. 
 
 GUIDE TO LOUISVILLE. 
 
 A comprehensive map, showing location of impor- 
 tant points in the city, hotels, street car lines, etc., is 
 mailed with this pamphlet. Study it carefully, an 
 you will get a good idea of the city.

 HEREWITH is printed a list of hotels, boarding houses, private 
 houses, restaurants and halls where Veterans and visitors will 
 find accommodations. 
 Visitors are urged to communicate with the Hotels and Accommo- 
 dations Committee before coming to Louisville. Do not write direct 
 to boarding houses, as their space may have been assigned already. 
 Write to the Hotels Committee Chairman, giving the number in your 
 party, the rate you desire to pay per day, and about the location you 
 prefer, if you are familiar with the city. Do not fail to specify the 
 number of ladies that will be in your party. 
 
 Where husband and wife desire a room to themselves, rates will be 
 in many cases higher than those given, as these printed rates are based 
 on three and four persons in one room. 
 
 The Louisville Hotel has been selected as headquarters for General 
 Gordon and staff. 
 
 The numbered streets of Louisville run north and south ; the named 
 streets east and west. Numbers run loo to the block. Thus, a house 
 No, too Main Street would be on the corner of First and Main Streets • 
 No. 615 W^est Broadway would be between Sixth and Seventh Streets. 
 
 In the list below, the number of persons that can be entertained is 
 given. B and L means board (meals) and lodging; B means meals 
 alone ; L, lodging alone. The figures after B and L indicate tho price 
 to be charged for one day's meals and one night's lodging. The figures 
 after B indicate the price for each meal; the figures after L indicate 
 the price of a night's lodging alone. In many cases hotels and board- 
 ing houses can furnish meals to a larger number than they can provide 
 sleeping quarters for. In these cases, the name is usually duplicated — 
 the first line showing the number that can be accommodated in full, the 
 second showing the number additional that can be fed.

 The Executive Committee, elected by the citizens' mass 
 meeting, shall have entire charge of all arrangements for 
 the Reunion. They may add to their number from time to 
 time, as may be deemed expedient. They shall have power 
 to appoint standing committees and sub-committees, as well 
 as other persons, as may be found necessary, and shall super- 
 vise and control their work. They shall control the funds 
 contributed by citizens and others for the purposes of the 
 committee, and direct all expenditures of mone_y. They 
 shall hold stated meetings every Thursday evening of each 
 week, at such hours as may be designated by the President, 
 and may have called meetings at the call of the President. 
 At the meetings of the Executive Council, five members 
 shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, 
 and a less number may adjourn to a time specified.

 The Committee on Hotels and Accommodations shall 
 make suitable arrangements with hotels, boarding houses 
 and private houses for the accommodation of visiting Vet- 
 erans. If necessary, they shall secure the reservation of 
 buildings for quartering Veterans. They shall establish 
 bureaus of information throughout the city, as may be 
 deemed necessary, and see that the proper guide books are

provided for visitors requiring them, giving public infor- 
 mation. They shall co-operate with the postal authorities 
 in arranging for the prompt delivery of mail to visitors, 
 and discharge such other duties as may add to the comfort 
 and welfare of visiting comrades. They shall also endeavor 
 to ascertain and report to the Executive Committee the 
 names and addresses of all citizens of Louisville who may 
 offer to entertain at their private homes visiting comrades, 
 and the number each can entertain.

 The Committee on Parade and Review shall have charge 
 of the arrangements for the parade and review. Thej' shall 
 select the route over which the parade will move. They 
 shall arrange the order of the parade, and the place which 
 each State shall take in line, and shall make suitable pro- 
 vision for the protection of Veterans from encroachment 
 during the parade. They shall arrange for the erection of 
 the grand stands for reviewing parties on the day of the 
 parade, and they shall erect such other stands along the lino 
 ,: of parade as may be authorized. They shall make con- 
 tracts for carriages and horses for the use of those entitled 
 to them or requiring them, and such others as the Execu- 
 tive Committee shall direct. 
 
 They shall endeavor to ascertain by correspondence the 
 number of saddle horses that will be needed on the day of 
 the parade, and shall furnish forms and contracts, in blank, 
 to be used in securing such horses. They shall arrange for 
 the uniform equipment of saddle horses used in the parade. 
 It shall be the duty of this committee also to arrange with 
 the city authorities for the exclusive right of way through 
 the streets along 'the line of march during the parade, and 
 shall see that ice water is provided along' the route, and 
 that the streets are roped or wired to keep the public con- 
 fined to the sidewalks along the line of march.

 the Association of' the Medical Officers of the Confederate

 headquarters of the officers of the United Confederate 
 Veterans', and shall complete and execute such other ar- 
 rangements as may be deemed advisable for the comfort 
 and convenience of the United Confederate Veterans, and 
 to see that all suitable arrangements are made for the con- 
 venience and comfort of the commanding officers and other 
 officials of the reunion at headquarters. The committee 
 shall .see that the halls where the sessions of veterans are 
 lield are suitably decorated, illuminated, and kept in proper
