REVISED EDITION. PHILADELPHIA: MERICAN SUNDAY-SCHOOL UNION, No. 1122 Chbbtntjt Street. New York : Ncs. S & 10 Bi«le House, Astor Placb. Cmr\ac, : 73 "Randolph Stpt -. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1879, by the AMERICAN SUNDAY-SCHOOL UNION, In the Office of the Librarian 3J Cucgrr«\ ot V«»*»ungton. ; PREFACE This work is designed especially, but not exclusively, for the younger classes of Bab- bath-schools. It embraces a general and connected account of the most important events recorded in the Old and New Testa- ments. The answers to questions are short, p simple, and, as far as practicable, in Bible i language. In the New Testament, the ques- * tions on the Evangelists are taken from them all collectively, and not in the order of any ne in particular. Such a general view of the j contents of the Bible seems necessary, as an 'introduction to the study of particular por- ions of it. 4 PREFACE. The series of Union Questions, in sixteen volumes, published by the Society, is now used more or less extensively by all evangelical denominations, and is found well adapted to the development and illustration of divine truth. This little manual may be regarded as introductory to that series. fig?* The chapter and verse containing the answer are stated whenever it is practicable ; and the teacher can enlarge the course of instruction at his discretion.
