The object of this Association shall be to enable the several State organizations of Chicago to co-operate for the purpose of promo- ting the success of the Columbian Exposition; the understanding being, viz: the several State Associations, herein represented, do not surrender to this Association any of their prerogatives or powers, nor shall their work be prescribed or interfered with in any manner by this Association. Sec. III. This Association shall be composed of three duly accredited representatives from each of the State and Territorial Associations now existing or which may be hereafter formed in Chicago, PROVIDED, that the several Provinces of British America, and such organizations repre- senting Nationalities as the Executive- Committee may from time to time designate, may also be represented, in the same manner, as their associa- tions are duly organized. The representatives now accredited to this Association shall continue to be members thereof until their places shall be filled by other representatives dulj^ accredited. P^ach member shall pay Two Dollars as annual dues to the Treasurer. Sec. IV. The officers of this Association shall be: a President, a First Vice President, one Vice President from each association represented herein, a Secretarj', a Treasurer, an Executive Committee of one member from each of said associations, of which the President, First Vice President and Secretary shall be members ex-officio^ and a Finance Committee of one member from each of said organizations represented herein. All of these officers shall be elected by ballot at the Annual Meeting, provided that the Vice Presidents, and members of the Executive and Finance Coinmittees shall be nominated by the several State organizations and be elected by this Association, and shall hold office until their successors are elected. Sec. V. The President, Secretary, Treasurer and Finance Committee of this Association shall perform the usual duties pertaining to their respective offices. The Executive Committee shall have the general management of the affairs of this Association, and may appoint from its own members such committees and charge them with such duties as it may from time to time deem proper, and prescribe the order in which its business shall be transacted. The President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Committee shall make reports to the Annual Meeting. Sec. VI. Regular lueetings of the Associa- tion shall be held quarterly on the second Friday of May, August, November and February of each year at 8 o'clock P. M. The meeting of May shall be the annual meeting, notice of which shall be mailed to each member by the Secretary. Special meetings may be called by the President and Secretary when they shall deem them neces- sary. The Executive Committee shall meet on the second Friday of each month during the year at 8 o'clock P. M. Sec. VII. Fifteen members shall constitute a quorum at any meeting of the Association, and seven members a quorum at any meeting of the Executive or Finance Committee. Sec. VIII. This constitution may be revised or amended at any regular meeting of the Asso- ciation by a two-thirds vote of the members present, provided, that notice thereof be given at the last previous regular meeting.
