The City of Saeramcnr.o consists of the followino: described limits: Commencing at the Junction of the American and Sacramento ri\^ers, running down the channel of the Sacramento river to a point opposite Y street; thence easterly on the soutli line of Y street, to the east line of 31st street; thence north'erly along the east line of 81st street to the north line bf A street; thence westerly along the north line of A street to the east line of 22d street ; thence along the east line of 22d .street to the north line of B street; thence westerly along the north line of B street to the center of the American river; thence down the center of said^river as it existed on the 2{)Lh day of May, 1851, to the place of begining. Chapter IV, Section 2— Powers of Board op Health. TlH3 Board of Health of the City of Sacramento, now recognized by the Board of Trustees, shall have a gen- eral supervision of all matters appertaning to the sani- ta.ry coudition of said city, and full powers are hereby given to said Board of Health over all questions of foul or detective drainage, and of the disinfecting and cleaning of streets, alleys, cellars^ cesspools, or nui- sances of any description, and of Jow places within the city limits calculated to receive and retain unhealthy deposits. Article XIX, Section 3— Chinese. No Chinese shall be employed on any State, County, municipal, or other public Y\'ork, except in punish- ment for crime. Article XI, Section 50 — Penalty for Doing Busi- ness Without a License. Whenever any person or persons required by any city ordinance to take out a license, shall fail or neg- lect to take out such license, at the time in such ordi- nance provided, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in any sum not les.s than $10 nor more than $100, or be imprisoned not less than 5 nor more than 50 days. That nothing in the above act shall be taken to grant to the Board of Trustees to collect any license, for sell- ing or manufacturing any article produced by a me- chanic artisan in his business. Chapter XI I-— Hates of Fare for Carriages, Etc. Sec. 4.. For one person, one mile or less, one dollar and 11 fty cents; for two or more persons, one mile or less, two dollars and fifty cents; for each additional mile, for each passenger, fifty cents.
