Baltimore, Md., May, 1865. LIBRARY OF CONGRESS 006 092 713 3 M NOTE. This document was prepared by a Committee of the House of Delegates of the last General Assembly, for the purpose of informing those unacquainted with the peculiar advantages to be found within this State for a desirable settlement. It was left with me, as their chief officer, for distribution in such manner as would best pro- mote the desired object. To carry out more iully tlieir design, I have canvassed the State, collected much inforn)a- tion, and obtained descriptions of a large lot of property now in the market for sale, with the view of establishing in this city a State Agency for the sale of lands, where parties can always obtain reliable information. I have now a list of oreTjive hundred farms , and am daily adding to it. When completed I will publish a Catalogue, a copy of which you can obtain by enclosing iifty cents — sufficient only to pay the expense of publication. The '^Kesources of Maryland" will be sent gratis to any of your friends seeking such information. Should you visit Maryland, I will be pleased to see yoii at my office, and furnish you with any inforniation I possess, and aid you in every way possible, (whetlier your object i«j one for purchase or observation, without charge.)
