By Gillray, Cruikshank, Rowlandson, etc. This is probably the largest and most complete collection of caricatures on Napoleon in America. They are all scarce, and many of them are so rare that they may almost be considered unique. Those of an English origin are more or less severe, and in some instances descend to obscenity and vulgarity of the lowest order, so much so that the artists, Cruikshank, Gillray, etc., have refrained from putting their names to them. As most of the caricatures are the usual folio size, we have not considered it necessary to insert the measurement in the cata- logue. 511 THE KING OF BROBDINGNAG AND GULLIVER (Plate 2^ ).
