The (tp Village is surrovnided b\- beautiful scenery, with blue ranges of mountains visible upon either side. The Spring.s — twenty-eight in number — no two of which are precisely alike in composition, are among the natural curiosities of the universe. The \'illage has a resident population of 12,000 and a Summer pop- ulation sometimes of 60,000. Its hotels are the largest and most luxurious in the World ; and its streets are the mo.st beautiful. Broadway, the principal thoroughfare, is lined with double rows of magnificent elms, and during the Season presents a spectacle unlike anything else to be found. The walks and drives in and about the \'illage are varied and full of interest. Saratoga Lake, a beautiful body of water, eight miles long and two and one-half miles wide, is l)ut four miles from the Village, the road thither being 100 feet in width, and pa.ssing the race-course. Ever>'thing that ta.ste and wealth can suggest has been done to make vSaratoga the first of resorts, and more attractions are here offered than at any other watering-place in the World.
