Initiation PRAYER BY CHAPLAIN Almighty God, whose kingdom is everlast- ing and power infinite; from whom cometh all blessings, grant we beseech thee, that we may so faithfully serve thee in this generation that we fail not to obtain thy heavenly promises. We pray thee to give us that due sense of thy mercies that our hearts may be thankful; and that we show forth thy praises not only with our lips, but in our lives. Have mercy upon this whole land and so govern the lives of thy servants, the President of the United States, the Governor of this State, and all others in authority, that they knowing whose ministers they are, may above all things seek thy honor and glory. And we, thy people, ever rejoice in thy holy name through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. 10 D. A. R. Initiation ADDRESS BY REGENT 1. We believe in one God, one country, one flag. We believe in the home; we believe in our schools and their abundant opportunity to instill in the minds of the young, the prin- ciples of patriotic devotion to their home-land. We believe in the flag — a symbol of the power, the honor and the glory of all our United States, and we join our-selves to no party that does not carry the flag and keep step to the music of the Union. We consecrate our work to the spirit of National Independence, and we wish that the light of peace may rest upon it, forever, and now since you (name) have proven your eligibility to become a Daughter of the American Revolution, we welcome you as a member of "Ladies of the Lake" Chapter (substitute name of Chapter using initation.)
