On January Slst, 1756, Governor Robert Hunter 
 Morris appointed and commissioned Edward Ship- 
 pen, Samuel Morris, Alexander Stedman and Samuel 
 McCall, Jr., to "audit, liquidate and settle" the 
 accounts of the owners of all Wagons, Teams and 
 Horses hired or destroyed in the expedition of Gen- 
 eral Braddock against Fort Du Quesne. This com- 
 mission is printed in the First Series of Pennsyl- 
 vania Archives, Volume II, Page 598. 
 
 The following is endorsed as the account settled 
 by the above named four gentlemen ; it is, however, 
 entirely in the handwriting of Edward Shippen. 
 
 It is believed that this account, printed from the 
 original, in the possession of the editor, is of suflS- 
 cient interest to students of American History to 
 warrant its publication.
