preamble 
 
 As our Country was founded by persons of various na- 
 tionalities, and as the present war shows how important it 
 is, for the safety and welfare of America, that we be united 
 as one Nation , and as in the present war many are aiding 
 to free the world from oppression and injustice ; and bearing 
 in mind the services performed by the illustrious Pole for the 
 preservation of our independence ; in order to keep afresh in 
 the memory of our descendants and to preserve the history 
 of our Country, we, the undersigned, on this 15th day of 
 August, 1918, do now institute, form and organize an Order 
 to be called The Military Order of^ Pulaski, named for 
 the illustrious Count and General Casimer Pulaski, who lost 
 his life in the defense of our liberties in the battle at Savanah, 
 Georgia, October 9, 1779.

Conetltution 
 
 ARTICLE I. 
 
 Name. 
 This Society shall be named in law as The Military Order 
 
 of Pulaski. 
 
 ARTICLE II. 
 
 Object. 
 
 The object in forming this Order is to preserve in the 
 
 memory of Americans the name of the gallant General, Count 
 
 Casimer Pulaski. 
 
 ARTICLE III. 
 
 Qualification. 
 All males of the Aryan race descended from some official 
 of the Colonial Era of America who was, or whose descend- 
 ant was, a military officer in the Colonies not below the rank 
 Captain, or who during the Revolutionary War held the rank 
 of Captain, are eligible to the Order, provided the ancestor 
 settled in the Colonies prior to. or during the year 1740. 
 
 ARTICLE IV. 
 Dues. 
 There shall be a life membership fee of $10. No annual 
 dues

 ARTICLE V. l: 
 
 Officers. 
 
 There shall be a Commander General, First Vice-Com- 
 mander General, and three Vice-Commander Generals, a 
 Recorder General, a Treasurer General, a Secretary General 
 and a Chaplain General, and an officer for each State to whom 
 may be referred all applicants desirous of becoming members 
 of the Order. 
 
 The official ttles of the officers shall be : for the chief offi-' 
 cer: Captain Commander General; for the first Vice-Com- 
 mander General: First Vice Captain Commander General; 
 and for the Vice-Commander Generals : First, Second and 
 Third Lieutenant Commander Generals. The title of the 
 State officers shall be Chancellor Generals in the Order. 
 
 ARTICLE VL 
 The Council. 
 There shall be a Council composed of the officers of the 
 Order who shall have the authority and power to amend, 
 alter, revise, and to change the Constitution and attend to all 
 business of the Order, three of whom shall constitute a quo- 
 rum for the transaction of all busines and the government of 
 the Order as expressed in the above language in this article. 
 The Council may, when it is considered advisable, create new 
 official positions, and during an interim between the meetings 
 the Commander General may create such positions and ap- 
 point those thus created to the Council of Order. 
 
ARTICLE VII. 
 Insignia. 
 The Insignia of Order shall be 
 as follows: A six-pointed star 
 with gold bordures, and alternate 
 sections of buff and blue, in the 
 center of which shall be the statue 
 of the Goddess of Liberty, all sus- 
 pended from a wreath of gold 
 within which is a golden sword, 
 all suspended from a ribbon in 
 sections of blue and buff. 
 ARTICLE VIII. 
 Seal 
 The seal of Order shall be the 
 Goddess of Liberty. 
 
 ARTICLE IX. 
 
 Rosette. 
 
 The rosette shall be of the colors 
 
 buff and blue. A small gold half 
 
 moon shall be worn, designating 
 
 the officers of Order. 
 
 ARTICLE X, 
 Titles. 
 The title of members of the Order shall be Knights of 
 Pulaski.

 ARTICLE XL 
 Admission. 
 Admittance to the Order shall be through any officer of 
 Order, with concurrence of another officer in the selection of 
 candidate. 
 
 ARTICLE XII. 
 
 There may be admitted free of all dues certain persons 
 to the Order, as also honorary members. 
 
 Certificate of llncorporation 
 
 THE MILITARY ORDER OF PULASKI. 
 
 We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, a ma- 
 jority being citizens of the District of Columbia, desiring to 
 associate ourselves for historical and genealogical purposes, 
 pursuant to the provisions of Sub-Chapter 3 of Chapter 18 of 
 the Code of Law for the District of Columbia, do certify as 
 follows : 
 
 First— The name of the Society shall be known in law 
 as The Military Order of Pulaski.

 Second. — The term for which it is organized shall be per- 
 petual. 
 
 Third. — The particular business and objects of the Society 
 shall be for historical and genealogical purposes. 
 
 Fourth. — The number of its trustees, directors or mana- 
 gers for the first year of its existence shall be five. 
 
 In Witness Whereof we have this 24th day of August,

 of August, 1918, and hereunto^annexed, personally appeared 
 before me in the said District the said J. G. B. Bulloch, M. D., 
 F. B. Baker and Thos. J. W. Brown the persons who executed 
 the said certificate, and acknowledged the same to be their 
 act and deed.
