This 36-page illustrated pamphlet is the first complete and authentic record of the founding, existence and decline of the Harmony Society, a group who carried on a bold experiment in communal living dedicated to equality of wealth. The historical value of this publication is supplemented by its treatment of the economic and social phases of the society, which flourished for a hundred years in Western Pennsylvania and, for a brief interlude, in Indiana. We have been advised that the pamphlets may be obtained for 15 cents, plus 3 cents postage, by addressing the William Penn Association of Philadelphia, 130 South 15th Street, Philadelphia, Penna. Three other pamphlets previously produced by the Pennsylvania unit of the Federal Writers' Project are still obtainable: "Tales of Pioneer Pittsburgh," 10 cents plus postage.
