Sir,—1 have the honour to make ai)plication for a special lease, under the provisions of section 91 of " The Crown Lands Act of 18sl," of a portion of land on the .south side of the Barron River, in North t^uecnsland, having a frontage of 2-5 chains to that river, 12 chains above and 18 chains below the break of the Barron Falls, with a depth of 10 chains from the margin of the stream, for the erection of ore reduction works (to treat copper and other ores from the Chillagoc Copper Alines, utilising for that purpose the power of the Falls), for the term of thirty years, and to re(|nest that the lease, if granted, shall issue in the name of the Chillagoe Projn'ietary, Limited. 1 have, &c., C.
