I WILL MENTION THE LOVING KINDNESS OF THE LoRD, AND THE PKAISES OF THE LORD, ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THE LoRD HATH BESTOWED ON US, AND THE GREAT GOODNESS TOWARD THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, WHICH HE HATH BESTOWED ON THEM, ACCORDING TO HIS MERCIES, AND ACCORDING TO THE MULTI- TUDE OF HIS LOVING KINDNESSES. — Isaiah Ixiii : 7. The Church on earth has always been precious in the eyes of God. Of it he has said : " Behold I have graven thee on the palms of my hands." And Christ "loved the Church and gave himself for it: that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, that he might present it to himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing." The Lord looks "to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at his word." Wherever two or three are gathered together in his name, there he is in the midst.
