BLESSED is the man that walk- eth not in the counsel of the ungodly: nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree plant- ed by the rivers of water: that bringeth forth his fruit in his season. His leaf also shall not wither: and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not .stand in the judgment: nor sinners in the congregation of the right- eous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 19. THE heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament shew- eth His handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech: and night unto night Bheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language: where their voire is not heard. The law of the Lord is perfect. converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD if MIPS, making wise the simple. I he statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heai I : the com- mandment of the LordIs pure, en- lightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is Thy ser- vant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors: cleanse Thou me from secret faults. Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great tr sion. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, he ac- ceptable in Thy sight: LORD, my Strength, and my Redeemer. Psalm 24. THE Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He lead- eth me in the paths of richtcous- ness for His Name's sake. Yea, though 1 walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparesi a table before mi- in the presence of mine enemies: 12 Thou anoint est my head wit It oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 24. THE earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: the world, and they that dwell therein. For He hath founded it upon the seas: and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord: or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart: who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn de- ceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord: and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek Him: that seek thy face, O Jacob. Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors: and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory: The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates, even lift them up, ye everlasting doors: and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory: The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Psalm 32. BLESSED is he whose transgres- sion is forgiven: whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity: and in whose spirit there is no guile. I acknowledged my sin unto '1 'hc(>: and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my trans- gressions unto the Lord: and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou may est be found: sure- ly in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding-place, Thou shalt preserve me from trouble: Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. Psalm 46. GOD is our Refuge and Strength: a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed: and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled: though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God: the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. ' God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the king- doms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our Refuge. Come, behold the works of the Lord: what desolations He hath made in the earth. 13 He maketh wars to oaSM unto the end of the earth: He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder, He burnetii the chariot in the fire. Be still, and Know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our Refuge. Psalm 67. GOD be merciful unto us, and bless us: and cause His face to shine upon us. That Thy way may be known upon earth: Thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise Thee, O God: let all the people praise Thee. let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for Thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Lei the people praise Thee, God: let all the people praise Thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase: and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us: and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. Psalm 91. HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High: shall abide under the shadow of the Al- mighty. 1 will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress: my God, in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the cnare of the fowler: and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His fringe shalt thou trust: His truth shall DC thy shield and buckler. Thou shall not D€ afraid for the terror by night: QOl fOI the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walk- eth in darkness: nor for the de- struction that iraateifa at noonday. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my Refuge: even the Most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee: neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall nive His angels charge over thee: to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands: lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, be- cause he hath known My Name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him: and show him My salvation. Psalm 100. MAKIv a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands: serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord He is God: t is He that hath made us, and no we ourselves, we are His people, | id the sheep of His pas- ture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankiul unto Him, and bless His Name. For the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting: and His truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 103. BLESS tin- Loud, my soul: and all that is within im . I lis holy Name. 14 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and forget not all His benefits; Who forgiveth all thine iniqui- ties: Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things: so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteous- ness and judgment: for all that are oppressed. The Lord is merciful and gra- cious: slow to anger, and plen- teous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will He keep His anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins: nor rewarded us accord- ing to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth: so great is His mercy to- ward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west: so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his chil- dren: so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him. Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul. Psalm 107. OGIVE thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever. O that men would praise the Lord for His goodness: and for His wonderful works to the chil- dren of men. They that go down to the sea in ships: that do business in great waters; These sec the works of the Lord: and His wonders in the deep. For He commandeth and raiscth the stormy wind: which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stag- ger like a drunken man: and are at their wit's end. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble: and He bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm; so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet: so He bringeth them unto their desired haven. that men would praise the Lord for His goodness: and for His wonderful works to the chil- dren of men. Psalm 119. WHEREWITHAL shall a young man cleanse his way: by taking heed thereto according to Thy Word. With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy commandments. Thy Word have I hid in mine heart: that I might not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Lord: teach me Thy statutes. With my lips have I declared: all the judgments of Thy mouth. 1 have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies: as much as in all riches. I will meditate in Thy precepts: and have respect unto Thy ways. I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy Word. Psalm 121. I WILL lift up mine eyes unto the hills: from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord: which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. 15 Behold, He that keepeth Israel; shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day: nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in: from this time forth, and even for ever- more. Psalm 130. OUT of the depths: have I cried unto Thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities: O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with Thee: that Thou mayest be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait: and in His Word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy : and with Him is plenteous redemp- tion. And He shall redeem Israel: from all his iniquities. Psalm 139. 0LORD, Thou hast searched me, and known me: Thou knowest my downsitting and mine up- rising. Thou understandesl my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down: and art ac- quainted with :ill my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue: but, l<», Loud, Thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and and laid Thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit: or whither shall I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the morn- ing: and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy hand lead me: and Thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me: even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee, but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts, And see if there be any wicked way in me: and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 145. I WILL extol Thee, my God, O King: and I will bless Thy Name for ever and ever Every day will I bless Thee: and I will praise Thy Name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: and His great ne^ M unsearchable. One generation shall praise Thy works to another: and shall declare Thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honor <>f Thy majesty: and of Thy won droufl works. And men shall Bpeak of the might of Th> terrible sol I will declare Thy greatness, 16 saith unto Peter, Simon, slecpest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. And he com- eth the third time, and saith untf them, Sleep on now, and take your rest : it is enough, the hour is come ; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. John 19:16-19, 25-30. They shall abundantly utter the memory of Thy great goodness: and .-hall sing of Thy righteous- ness. The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion: slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works. All Thy works shall praise Thee, OLord: and Thy saints shall bless Thee. Th«y shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom: and talk of Thy power; To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts: and the glorious majesty of His kingdom. Thy kingdom is an everlasting FTHHEN delivered he him there- kingdom: and Thy dominion en- J. fore unto them to be crucified. dureth throughout all generations. The Lord upholdeth all that fall: and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon Thee: and Thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest Thine hand: and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. Mark 14:32-41. AND they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amaz- ed, and to be very heavy; and Mkith unto them, My soul is ex- ceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he rometh, and findeth them sleeping, and And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was. JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister. Mary the w T ife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. After this, Jesus know- ing that all things were now ac- complished, t hat the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hys- sop, and put it to his mouth. 17 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed hi.- head, and gave up the ghost. Matthew 28:1-8. IN the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Mag- dalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: and for fear of him the keepers did shake, and be- came as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he go- eth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. John 3:16-21. FOR God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to con- demn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, beeaUM he hath not believed in the name of the only be g otten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that do- eth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made mani- fest, that they are wrought in God. Luke 15:11-24. AND he said, A certain man had two sons: and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gath- ered all together, and took his jour- ney into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did cat; and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against hea- ven, and before thee, and am HO more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired ser- vants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neek, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have .sinned against heaven, and in thy sijjht, and am no more wor- thy tO be railed thy son. Hut the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on 18 him; and put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet: and bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. John 4:13-15, 20-24. JESUS answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but who- soever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith un- to her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jeru- salem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship : for salva- tion is of the Jews. . But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Matt. 25:14-30. FOR the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far coun- try, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his sev- eral ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had re- ceived the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And like- wise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came^and brought other five tal- ents, saying, Lord, thou deliver- edst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and sloth- ful servant, thou knewest that 1 reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take there- fore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abun- dance: but from him that hath not shaU be taken away even that X9 which be hath. Ami east ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be creeping and gnashing of teeth. John 5:24-30, 39. VERILY, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, 1 Bay unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Cod: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in him- self; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all thai are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resur- rection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as 1 hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 11:21-27, 41-1 I. THEN said Martha unto Jesus. Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died; but I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask oi ( tod, ( tod will give it thee. Jesus Baith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, 1 know that he ■hall us*- again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus laid unto her, I am the resurrection, and the lite: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever hveth and believeth in me shall new-r die. Better est thou this? She saith un- to him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead w a- laid. And Jesus lifted up hi and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And 1 knew that thou nearest me always: but because of the people which stand by 1 said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave- clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 14:1-G, 12-21. LET not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: it it were not so, I would have told you. I go to pre- pare a place for you. And it 1 go and prepare a place for you. I will come again, and receive you unto myself; thai where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou gOCSt; and how can we know the way'.' JeSUfl saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Verily, verily, I Bay unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do Shall he do also; and greater worki than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And wh ball ask in my name, that R ill 1 do, that the 1 a thei ma. be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my 20 name, I will do it. If ye love mo, keep my commandments. And 1 will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you com- fortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: be- cause I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my com- mandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. s John 21:15-17. O when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, loveat thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. Ho saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou baowestthal I love thee. Hesaith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed rny Bheep. 1 Cor. 1-13. THOUGH I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am be- come as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and un- derstand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so A that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I be- stow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily pro- voked, thinketh no evil; rejoic- eth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Char- ity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there^be tongues, theyshall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I waa a child, I spake as a child, I under- stood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. Foi now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Rom. 8:31-30 IF God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God 21 that justifieth. Who is he that as sheep for the slaughter. Nay* oondemneth? It ia Christ that in all these things ire art- mure died, yea rather, that is risen than conquerors through him that again, who is even at the right loved us. For I am persuaded, hand of God, who also maketh in- that neither death, nor life, nor tercession for us. Who shall angels, nor principalities, nor separate us from the love of Christ? powers, nor things present, nor shall tribulation, or distress, or things to come, nor height, nor persecution, or famine, or naked- depth, nor any other cTcature, ness, or peril, or sword? As it is shall be able to separate us from written, For thy sake we are killed the love of God, which is in Christ all the day long; we are accounted Jesus our Lord. O Sacred Head, what glory, What bliss, till now, was Thine! Yet, though despised and gory, I joy to call Thee mine. 2 How art Thou pale with anguish, With sore abuse and scorn! How does that visage languish, Which once was bright as morn! What Thou, my Lord, hast suffered, Was all for sinners' gain; Mine, mine was the transgression, But Thine the deadly pain. 3 Lo, here I fall, my Saviour! 'Tis I deserve Thy place! Look on me with Thy favor. Vouchsafe to nif Thy grace. Receive mo, my Redeemer; My Shepherd, make me Thine! WHEN I survey the wondrous Cross On which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride. 2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the Death of Christ, my God; All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His Blood. 3 See, from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
