Here you may find ample employment, and rich remuneration. Here every one may aid, and be aided in his turn. Here the suggestion of a useful thought ; the con- tribution of the humblest specimen of nature or art, that you may find in your path ; the recording and transmitting a single remarkable fact ; and even a smile of encouragement in our labours, will be acknowledged as a favour to the cause of human improvement, and will meet, we doubt not, its ap- propriate reward." ■*^46At
