The arrangement of the course of study above, is adopted in order to furnish a systematic course of instruction, and ac¬ commodate those who may wish to acquire an education more thorough and complete, than can be obtained without it. This course, however, will not diminish the advantages of those who may enter for a shorter time, but give them greater facilities, since the greater number and variety of studies will be pursued at the same time. Those students who complete the course of study named above, satisfactorily to their instructors, will be entitled to a Diploma or certifi¬ cate of the same. TEEMS OP ADMISSION. Scholars are admitted at any time ; but any one proposing to enter should endeavor, not only for the convenience of classification, but especially for his own interest and improve¬ ment, to be present at the commencement of the term. Those who enter a few days even, after the commencement of the school, often suffer an embarrassment through the session. No allowance will be made for absence, except in cases of protracted sickness. BOAEDING. Boarding, including fuel, lights, room and washing, can be had in good families, from one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1 75) to two dollars ($2 00) per week. Young men who would feel disposed to board a short dis¬ tance in the country, can be accommodated, for one dollar and fifty cents ($1 50) per week. TERMS AND VACATIONS. The Academic year will consist of one session of ten months, commencing on Wednesday, the 5th day of Sep¬ tember, and ending on the fourth Tuesday of June. 14 catalogue of mcminn academy. They are situated on a beautiful eminence at the West end of the town, in full view of the great thoroughfare to the Western country, and command a view of the beautiful and picturesque scenery, in the midst of which it is situated, that is at once calculated to fill the mind of the beholder with pleasure and delight. The buildings are immediately surrounded by a plat of ground, which, from its size amd situation, gives ample room for exercise, which is so necessary for the promotion of health among students. Rogersville, the location of the School, is pleasantly situa¬ ted in the midst of a fertile valley, which is accessible from all points. It is well supplied with wholesome water and pure air from the surrounding mountains. It is renowned for health—having never been visited by any of those epi¬ demics which have proved so fatal in other communities. A case of fever has never been known to originate in the place. The community is moral, temperate, intelligent and enter- prizing, and singularly free from temptations of a viscious and demoralizing nature. There are no gambling establish¬ ments to lead the youth astray. These are the bane of all communities where they exist; but Parents and Guardians -sending their sons and wards to this place, need have no fears on this account. As an additional inducement to parents, the thorough in¬ struction of Young Ladies at the Odd Fellows' Female Col¬ legiate Institute, with the advantages offered by this Acade¬ my, in having their sons and daughters in the same vicinity, gives Rogersville very strong claims on their attention.
