Amount transferred from Quartermaster's Department, as per act of Congress, approved January 30, 1862, $3,000,000 00 Amount transferred from Quartermaster's Department, by approval of the President, August 7th, 1862, 5,000,000 00 Total, $8,000,000 00 This amount was expended in the purchase of ordnance and ord- nan^e stores abroad, and also the manufacture and purchase of the same within the limits of the Confederate States, J.
