 I herewith transmit for your consideration, a communicatioa 
 from the Secretary of the Treasury, relative to certain transfers 
 of appropriations required in connection witli the service of his^ 
 Department.

 Sir: 1 have the honor to enclose lierewith, (in duplicate) to be 
 submitted to Congress, a statement showing certain transfers of 
 appropriations required in connection with the service of this De- 
 partment. These transfers are necessary to meet expenditures 
 accruing under the head named, and accruing to tlie 31st of the 
 present month. It is desirable that early action be had in tlie- 
 matter.
