Troops, the sentences are approved, and will be duly carried into execution, under the supervision of the commandant at Kinston, N. C, in twenty-four hours after the publication of their sentences. And the court is thus lenient in consid-- eration of the extreme youth, and of the physical disability and mental imbecility ol the accused, as apparent to the court and established in the evidence. 24. — Private George Hawkins, Whitford's Battalion. And the court, upon reflection upon the evidence adduced, re- commend that the General Commanding turn over the said William C. Cox, to the civil authorities, to be tried for treason. X. In the cases of privates Alexander McCoy, Geo. Hawkins, Fred. Turner and Ruel Wetherington of Whitford's Battalion, the sentences are approved and the men will be sent under guard to Brigadier General John H. Winder, Commanding Department Henrico, for the execution of their sentences. In the case of Wm. C. Cox, private Bridge Guard Comp'y, the finding is approved and the prisoner will be sent under guard to the Marshal of the Eastern District of North Caroli- na, lor the proper adjudication of his case.
