Report of the operations of this Agency, desired by you in your letter of 29th September last, has been necessarily delayed by the press of business engaging my attention. In March last, I received my appointment as Agent, at Kich- mond Va. As speedily as practicable, I made my way across the Mississippi, and through the enemy's lines in Louisiana, arriving inlTexas early in April.
