RESOLUTIOTSr Passed by the General Assembly of the State of Virginia, in rela- tion to the Confederate States impressment laws. Whereas, The manner and extent of impressments, as adopted b\' the agents of ollicers commanding the Confederate forces, is par- tial in its operation and unjust in its effects, upon the farmiufj- in- terest in the immediate vicinity of our armies, and tends to create discontent and dissatisfaction. Therefore Resolved, as the sense of this General Assembly, That. the existing laws in relation to impres3ments should be so amended as will hereafter prevent coosequences so unjust and injurious to the said farmini? interests ; and that the attention of our Senators and Representatives in Congress bo respectfully iuvitel to this sul>- ject.
