 The law of Congress of February 17th, 1864, having placed i 
 military serviee of the Confederate States for the war, all white 
 men, residents of the Confederate States, between the ages of sev- 
 enteen and fifty ; hereafter no person embraced by the terms of that 
 law will be entitled to bounty, on enlisting in the Navy or Marine 
 Corps, nor on being transferred thereto from the Army. 
 
 Only those exempt by the law referred to, or without the 
 bribed ages, and who are not compulsorily placed in the mil 
 serviee, are entitled to bounty on enlisting in the Navy or M 
 Corps.
