Syme, Printer to the Convention. BOARD OF CLAIMS. To the Hon., the Convention of North Carolina : The Board of Claims liereAvitli report to your Honorable body certain claims against the State, Avliich they have allowed since their report of 4th December last. The claims are con- tained in the annexed schedule, with a brief statement of the character of each of them. The only matter that requires remark is in regard to the items for clothing that have been rejected in some of the ac- counts. It will be found upon examination, as they have been officially informed, that the clothing furnished by the counties to their volunteers has been paid for by the Confederate Gov- ernment (as part of the clothing for the first six months.) In all cases where this commutation money has been turned over to the State by the companies receiving it, the Board has al- lowed the county charge for clothing. In all other cases this charge has been rejected. No information upon this point had been communicated to the Board of Claims at the time of mak- ing their last report. Respectfully submitted, B. A.
