[By Mr. Lyon, from Committee on Ways and Means.] ^ BILL To be entitled **Aa Act to amend An Act to provide revenue from commodities imported from foreign countries,'" approved May 2l3t, 18G4. 1 Section 1. The Congress of the Confederate States of America do 2 enact, That the first section of the act above recited be amended 3 80 that the duty imposed by the same on goods, products, wares, 4 and merchandise, imported from abroad for the Confederate 5 Stales, shall, after the passage of this act, be as follows : On 6 all articles enumerated in schedule A of said act, fifty per 7 centum ; on all articles enumerated in schedule B, forty per 8 centum ; on all articles enumerated in schedule C, thirty per 9 centum ;^n all articles enumerated in schedule D, twenty per 10 centum ; on all articles enumerated in schedule E, ten per 11 centum: Provided^ That nothing contained in this act shall bo 12 construed to impose any duty on articles now admitted duty 2 13 free under acts passed since the passage of the said act of May 14 21st, 1S61. 1 Sec. 2. That the article of salt, in schedule F, be trans- 3 ferred to schedule G, so as to be admitted free of duty.
