The attention of officers and others is called to paragraph 9 of the Regulations for the Tay Department, which, as amended, is as follows : "0. Officers are entitled to pay from the date of the acceptance of their appoint- ments, and from the date of promotion ; except, that officers who are required to give bond, are entitled to pay, only, from the date of the acceptance and approval of their official bonds. Officers who fail to return their bonds duly executed, within ninety days from the date of their receipt, will be considered to have declined their appointments, and be dropped from the rolls." A. C.
